Sick people in parks.....

Just curious if security/employees will turn away someone who is obviously very sick. With this Flu bug going around, not sure if it's a great idea to visit the parks.

Do you have kids? Do they go to school? Do you go to work in a busy building? There are germs everywhere. And people are contagious before they know they are sick.

I understand that but if someone is showing signs of being sick (ie vomiting, fatigue, coughing, etc...) then they should be refused entry. I believe Airlines refuse passengers who are showing signs of being ill and so do cruise ships.

Now I can see if you do not show signs then there is no reason to be refused but what I am referring to is someone who is obviously sick.

Of course not, they cannot turn people away just for looking "sick" unfortunately.. Visiting a WDW park is not any different from going to a mall, airport, public transit, department store, or anywhere else in terms of exposure to germs and possible illnesses.

Coughing could be caused by any number of things, not necessarily a cold or flu. Fatigue is probably evident on half the people there, just from "doing Disney" or overdoing it, as the case may be. Now, if someone actually vomited in line to get in, I'd bet they were promptly escorted to get help - I doubt they just walked through to go ride something.

I guarantee that would make the parks less crowded! They need a scanner that can detect high levels of rudeness and self-entitlement. If it goes off on the high side...sorry, try back again tomorrow.

My son vomited right on Main Street back in December. We alerted a CM who called someone for clean up and a manager came over. As I would have expected, manager never asked why my son might have been sick. She just offered sympathy, told us where First Aid was if we felt he needed to go, and offered a wheelchair if we thought he needed one. I would never have expected the posibility of being detained while his health was questioned, etc.

Turning sick people away or making sick people leave would be impossible to enforce properly.

People vomit from motion sickness after rides. Food intolerances. GI issues. Medication. People have runny noses from allergies. People have chronic coughs due to asthma. Cystic Fibrosis. And soooo many more examples. They are in no way contagious.

The last thing we need is for Disney to start deciding who is sick or who is not. This comes down to PERSONAL responsibility. Not Disney.

I can’t believe anyone would actually want a theme park to have that much control and question individuals’ health based on the way they look or sound.

I don't remember why they did it (maybe one of the bird flu years), but I do remember Disney putting hand sanitizer stations ALL over the parks for a couple of years. I'm surprised they haven't put those back out.

I think I may have definitely been patient zero over the weekend. It went from 'I'm feeling a little tired' on Monday to 'I have the plague' very quickly overnight. Just in time for our flight home Tuesday evening. That was not enjoyable. Sore throat,cough, snot, congestion. I probably shared it with each park .

The cruise line does question everyone's health and has the right to refuse boarding, but controlling norovirus on the ship is a much different issue than trying to stop illness in the parks.

Kids show flu symptoms when over-full, have a tummy-ache or are exhausted. Disney World is full of kids who are eating more junk food than in their regular life and exhausting themselves with go-go-go parents. Seriously. If you are anti-germ I'd recommend you avoid theme parks. Or the mall, restaurants, or any other public place that puts you in close proximity to that which you're trying to avoid. No parent would stand for taking their kid to Disney World only to come down w a cold the day before and having them sit in quarantine. Cuz you wouldn't want them to go to the hotel restaurant or pool either I'd presume.

They still have them out! I'm pretty sure they've been out since the Zika Virus became such a big topic in the media

I have a hard time believing that ANYONE who legitimately has the flu will be galavanting around a Disney park. Seriously. The flu really takes a toll on your ability to function at even 50% of normal. I have to think that people with the flu wouldn't even WANT to be at a Disney park.

They are out. And this week watched them actively set up more at AK. Just left outlet mall and they are there too.

They still have them out! I'm pretty sure they've been out since the Zika Virus became such a big topic in the media

That was bug and mosquito repellent, what they have now is hand sanitizer on stand alone posts.
