Thanks, mom. Unfortunately the euthanization process for a hamster is pretty severe. (And I've never had to do it before.) I'm trusting my vet will make it as painless as possible.![]()
I forgot to say yesterday that at the vet's, once Woody was gone, we could really examine him. It looks as though he had a swelling over by his neck and jaw, the vet thinks it was either a swollen lymph node or a tumor. It explains a lot. (DD had noticed this but we didn't want to hurt him touching it and looking further.) I guess these are fairly common in hamsters, from what I've read.Did the vet say what he thought he problem is?

(DD had noticed this but we didn't want to hurt him touching it andnother. She feels she can keep one safe in her room, and I agree. The cage we have is a huge converted bird cage that DH and the kids souped up, and it's kept up high on top of a bookcase, doors secured shut. (If I was a hamster, I'd like it in there, lol.) So we shall see. (Stay tuned.)
