Hi,
The Space Shuttle launch has now been moved to February 26, 2011. This is the day that we arrive in Florida. We will most likely be flying in to the Sanford airport. I think that we will arrive early enough (11:30am) to get to an area to "view" the launch (4:04pm).
I won't buy tickets to view it because they are non-refundable, and shuttle launches are postponed all of the time, not to mention that we're flying out of Ohio in Feb... anything can happen in Feb in Ohio!!
. I'm wondering if anyone here can offer any advice as to how possible it is to see anything from surrounding areas?
I was at a launch 15-20 years ago, and we had some type of VIP passes (from my brother-in-law's job). I know that you can't really get close to it, even with passes, but I would love for my 6 year old to see something. He is crazy about space, and this may be the last shuttle launch in a very long time (maybe ever!).
Suggestions or ideas?
Thank you!
