Shut out of BOG at 186 days

I lucked out today and was able to snag a 6:00 pm rezzie for 4 to BOG on Dec 15th. Just decided to make one of my random checks on my break at work today and there it was. I was jumping for joy. Expected to spend the next 6 months checking every day 3-4 times a day. When I saw the time pop up I grabbed that thing. I was double checking on each page to make sure I didn't have the wrong date in there cause I just couldn't believe I got it so quickly when yesterday was my 180 mark.

Congratulations! There was definitely nothing available on the 15th when I was checking, so you must have caught a cancellation. But you give me hope to keep checking!

No BOG for us either. Trip Dec 14-19, our travel agent and I both tried. Very disappointing.We wanted to celebrate daughters 10th bday at BOG

Last year for Dec I could find nothing for 16 people at 180 days out.

I checked every day and one day it was all opened. Keep checking.

That's the same message you get in the hours before the (180+10) 6 am opens up. The system must have its moments. It happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I tried to book my 180+10. Did fine on the phone, though.

I was able to get BOG yesterday 180+10 for 12/23 @ 6:02am eastern... the message you are showing was on the main page but not if you went to the restaurant direct page... keep trying...

Our family will also be there from Dec.13-Dec.20th. I tried for BOG on the 180day for the 16th.It was booked up. It is on a party night and the CM told me that it had booked up quickly. We will keep checking back but as a back up I took the Chrystal Palace as we have 3 little boys traveling with us.

we are there 14-21st and got a ressie for the 20th at 8:15...the parties during the week squeeze out a lot of openings...but I planned that it would have to be at the end of our trip, so feel good to have scored one.

Yup! A reservation on 12/20 is the only one I've been able to nab. And that one was easy -- right at 180+10.

I will definitely keep trying -- and I do use the BOG page proper, other than the "browse restaurants." I might start trying some phone calls soon, but I've always had just as good luck on MDE as I have had on the phones. Will update!

I've been trying 5-6 times a day too, for any day in our trip Dec. 6-17. It's encouraging to hear others have been able to. I'll just keep at it. I do think it's harder because I have to make the ressie for 5 people, when one of them will be a 3 month old snoozing in my arms the whole time.

keep checking seriously. This december trip is the first one that I've ever booked at 180 days. cl ipo got us be our guest on the 18th. We've been to BOG 3 times already though and i've gotton those with little work 3-4 months out. check around your 45 day mark too...thats a time there are cancellations.

I couldn't get an ADR for our trip last September (we did lunch instead). I made ADRs for friends of ours for a six day trip this September, and couldn't get an ADR for them either (was trying for the last night). I also tried for friends going the last week of October, six night stay, fifth night of the trip, no luck. Our December trip is only four nights and there was nothing on any of the four nights at 180 days out.

It seems like 7-8 days from 180 is the key. We booked our 11 day trip, and BOG wasn't available until day 8, so 188 days out. We couldn't get a decent time until day 9, and got a 6:00. At day 8 all that was available was 8::45. I do know that ADRs become available the day before frequently. Last year we noticed if you check at night for the next day, you will see a lot more with people canceling what they don't need before they get charged. So if possible check while down there

yeah we're going for 10 days and got BOG for our 180+9 day which was fine with me because that's when I wanted it but it's insane that that's what you need to get a reservation!

OK I'm confused on when to start trying to book a reservation ? Do they start opening up 180 days ? For our future trip I would like to book BOG and Ohana so I want to be ready when the time comes and also wanted to know what time of day or night do I need to pounce

I do wonder if it matters how I search - the website allows you to look by time, the app only searches for dinner. So does the app cover all dinner hours in one step?

That's odd. I just checked the app and I am able to search for specific times as well as just "dinner".

You're right it does! Not sure why I thought otherwise. Maybe it defaulted differently or the scroll menu is in a different order.
