Has anyone eatten here? My friend suggested we try it on our vaca, but it is a signature (2 credits each). I haven't heard much about it, but the official website said it is recognized as one of the best steak houses in the US.

Thanks.

Shulas is wonderful, however I don't think it is part of the ddp. You would have to pay for this meal separately.

Above are correct - Shula's does not accept the Disney Dining Plan at all. I am not sure about the Premium or Plantinum package plans but I don't think they take those either.

Price but definitely worth it. Not just the best steaks on property but arguably in all of Central Florida.

Shula's is a great restaurant....what they accept for DPP payment, I do not know, but the food is delicious.

No, when Disney puts the designation Signature on their restaurant descriptions it means that the restaurant is considered upscale, or has entertainment/atmosphere that results in its being higher priced than general restaurant offerings. It does not mean that the restaurant accepts the Disney Dining Plan. Not all signature restaurants at Disney World accept the Disney Dining Plan. The ones that do cost two TS credits per person.

The restaurants located at the Swan and Dolphin resort do not accept the Disney dining plan.

This is probably the best meal that we have ever had on Disney property. We were fortunate enough to be guests of the management several years back. They really put on the dog for us! It was fabulous!

Duh. . . that makes sense since they aren't Disney owned! Ugh! :headache:

Thanks for clarifying that!
Don't beat yourself up over! FWIW, there are many non-Disney owned restaurants that accept the DDP. The ones at the Swolphin do not. The Yachtsman Steakhouse over at the Yacht Club does and it had pretty good steak.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is Disney-owned.

Most of the non-Disney restaurants that accept DDP are in Epcot World Showcase. There are three non-Disney TS restaurants at Downtown Disney and one at AK that accept DDP.

They now take the TIW card which is awesome!!!

Really?!?! Cool ...

Have you been to Shula's before? I ask because it's not a really child friendly place.

Can anyone recommend a dish other than plain steak, prime rib, or filet? And being non-child friendly, would a 13 year old fit in okay and what might she eat there. I can and will most likely answer my own questions with a little research:rotfl:

In addition to various cuts of beef, they have at least one chicken dish and several seafood dishes including lobster. Some of the appetizers and salads would be fine for someone looking for a lighter meal.

I think your 13 year old would be fine if they like the food on the menu (appy, entree or both) - I don't believe there is a kids menu. The last time we were there there was a family with what appeared to be a preteen dining. I know that both my brother and I would have loved to eat there when we were kids since we have always loved great cuts of beef.

No kids menu and a quieter atmosphere are what make it less kid friendly. I doubt kids would be permitted to run about the restaurant like I have seen elsewhere at Disney. However, there really is nothing preventing you from taking a child who would enjoy the food.

We loved Shulas! Haven't been back in a few years because its a bit more than we'd like to pay (and we have a 2 year old now.) The molten lava cake was amazing!

There were definitely older kids there when we went. A 13 yo would be fine as long as they don't mind sitting for a while since its not a fast paced dinner.

I was so excited when they announced it. We will definitely make it an every trip dining experience.

Have any other of the Swolphin restaurants been added to the TiW list? We're eating at bluezoo in June and this would be awesome!

Nevermind, found the answer myself. It now includes bluezoo, Shula's, Il Mulino, Kimonos, and Garden Grove. I may have to change a few reservations now!
