Shula's or Blue Zoo?

For the first night of our trip, DH and I have a PS for Shula's (we've never been). When we made it, I didn't even know about Todd English's new restaurant. Which do you think is better? I'm wondering if I should consider switching or not??

We've eaten at Shula's 2-3 times, and just tried Blue Zoo right after it opened in January.
IMHO:
My vote would be to switch to Blue Zoo.
It will end up being about the same cost-wise (expensive), but the added selection at Blue Zoo is great. Also, the steak (filet) DW had at Blue Zoo was (yes, I'll say it) better than Shula's.
If Blue Zoo gets prime rib anytime soon, we may not be back to Shula's.

Where is the Blue Zoo????I've been to Schula's and it was great but would love to try something new.

The bluezoo is in the Dolphin also.

Haven't been to BlueZoo yet, but if you want something quiet and relaxed I'd stay away from Shula's. The steaks and sides are great -- no question about it. But the place always seems to be full of conventioneers out for a rowdy night on the town. IMO it's not romantic at all.

We haven't eaten at Shula's yet, but I can't recommend BlueZoo highly enough.

We had an excellent meal there in February. They have excellent Seafood and Steaks. Service was outstanding!

just as an fyi to those considering blue zoo or shula's... camp dolphin offers two free hours of childcare for the children of those dining in either of those restaurants...

I would vote for BlueZoo also - great selection, great wines, great service and really neat decor!

I'm also trying to decide between these two restaurants - we prefer fish over steak but my DH is a big guy who doesn't appreciate "presentation" with small portions. I notice the portions are LARGE at Shula's but more expensive and was wondering if portion-size is the reason. Are Blue Zoo's portions much smaller than Shula's?

We ate at Blue Zoo twice in April and the portions were huge! I was very surprised. They give you plenty to eat.

Yes, you can make a PS although in April it really wasn't necessary. However, now that the place is up and running it may be a different story.

Well, for me the choice was fairly easy -- I have a DH who is Culinarily Challenged! One look at Blue Zoo menu and I could already envision his furrowed brow, the beads of sweat forming on his forehead as he read of dishes garnished with mango salsas, sprinkled with toasted fennel, doused in essence of truffle, accompanied by avocado puree... if a bubble could appear over his head, it would read, "BUT WHERE IS THE FOOD?"

On the other hand -- SHula's menu read like a 1st grade primer... Colossal shrimp cocktail, classic Caesar salad, double stuffed potatoes, fresh asparagus, and lest I forget, big ol slabs o' meat. I think he could handle that.

I think you would need more adventurous tastebuds for BlueZoo. Personally, I love new ideas and different tastes, and I would probably love Blue Zoo -- but I love my hubby more, so for his dining comfort, we're off to SHula's.

We ate at Blue Zoo & loved it. Just a tip on booking a PS. When I called they "couldn't find" blue zoo and so I made my PS directly thru the blue zoo website. But I later learned that Disney could have made the PS if my CM had looked under Todd English's Blue Zoo, i.e. it's in the Ts not the Bs.
I don't know about Shula's, but blue zoo gives you complimentary valet parking Just have your ticket validated at the end of your meal. Our server offered to call ahead & have our car waiting for us. Nice touch!
