Shrinking Tink: Trading Pounds for Pixie Dust

I'm here too. No skinnier than last I posted but no bigger either. Here's hoping that I can navigate the temptations of a holiday weekend!! Any tips???

I plan to lock myself away in the closet. But considering that we're probably not doing anything but working, I guess I don't have to worry about it. :lmao:

Hi everyone!

First of all, congratulations to all of you who are doing so well with your weight loss. It's awesome to have a thread like this to motivate us. Which brings me to my second point. I apologize for my absence!

I am happy to report I have almost hit my goal weight. And oddly, I'm at peace with not being exactly at it. What will be, will be. My Disney vacation is two weeks away, I feel good, healthy, and am looking forward to it so much. For those of you who don't remember, my aim was 145. Originally this past winter I was up around 158. Got down to 150 and had trouble losing those last stubborn pounds.

In the past couple of weeks, they've come off. I've upped my workouts a bit, and watched my eating habits, and it's helping. Nothing in particular, just being mindful. Today I used the WiiFit to weigh myself, and for the first time in many years, I had a normal BMI. I could have wept with joy! :cool1: My weight is currently 146.5. I set a new goal on the WiiFit to lose two pounds in the next two weeks. I think it can be done. Plus, it's easier to motivate myself with the promise of a big ole Disney vacation at the end! :goodvibes

Hope everyone is doing well, just wanted to pop my head in, :cheer2: for you, and say hello.

WOO! Go TK!!

I am so thrilled for you! I'd love to see pics if you have them! :goodvibes

Thank you! :goodvibes

I don't really post pics of myself...well, there are some headless ones on my ptr....:lmao:

If you'd like, I would be happy to draw you how my waist got smaller! :lmao: :thumbsup2
You can post the headless pics, if you'd like. Or draw me one.

I have a good friend that has a Wiifit and she loves  it. She said it's way harder than it looks.

Congratulations TK! I'm so happy for you.

I was supposed to weigh in today, but was a bit afraid after all I ate at Disney over the past week. Decided to put it off for a week for once I'm back on track. I walked alot, but ate tons of really good food.

I would put it off too! If it will feel defeating, best to wait a bit. :goodvibes

And thanks for the congrats. I'm fairly certain that I may end up gaining a bit on vacation as well, but I'm going to try to be sensible, only eat when I'm truly hungry, and work out on vacation. :thumbsup2

After just one day of being home I'm already feeling so much better about my eating. I'm utterly sick of eating out, and that doesn't happen very often. I don't even want to think about eating out (sit down or take out) for awhile. Just looking to enjoy some basic meals at home for awhile.

Well, I think that's normal. I know I love eating out while on vacation, but as we rarely if ever do it at home, by the end of vacation, I'm definitely ready for a good home cooked meal. :thumbsup2

I love eating out. There are times I prefer a home-cooked meal but for the most part I'm totally okay with restaurants.

Does anyone else get stuck on the same 2-3 pounds? TK, I think you did. What'd you do? How'd you get past it?

I stopped weighing myself.

And honestly, that was pretty much the beginning of it.

I was weighing myself too much, and if I saw the slightest upward fluctation, I would eat more. Guilt eating, I guess.

So I stopped weighing, and I'm really focusing on only eating when I'm hungry and not over-eating just because it tastes good. Do I fall off the wagon? Sure. But I don't beat myself up over it either. Life is too short to not have dessert.

Also, I increased the speed of my workout on the elliptical. Some days I can't, but most days, I got a lot faster than I used to, burning more calories. And I make sure to get there 3-4 times a week. All that combined, and it's resulted in those last couple of pounds coming off.

Now of course, yesterday the scale went back up. As I'm expecting a little something. A monthly, something if you will. Ah, bloated water weight. :lmao: At least better to have it now than in Disney!:thumbsup2
