Shrinking Tink: Trading Pounds for Pixie Dust

My hips and trunk junk are the bane of my existence right now. I never used to have extra weight around the middle. After all, I'm an hourglass. But since having Robbie, let's just say it hangs further down than I'd like it to.

And you're right...how dare they say it's only 1 size! What's wrong with them?
And trying to find good shirts for the twins (nameed Bob and xbimarmafoj) that fits everywhere else...that's a laugh.

I've always loved Dr. Pepper. But diet Dr. Pepper tastes nothing like regular. I don't like Coke but I do like Cherry Coke. So I'm drinking Cherry Coke Zero because it really does taste like Cherry Coke.
I sound like a commercial. Where's my money?

This morning I was packing my lunch and I reached into the freezer to grab a mac n' cheese Lean Cuisine (my go-to comfort meal with little-to-no guilt) and I saw 4 other LC's in there I hadn't purchased on my recent trip to the market. I picked one up - meatloaf with mashed potatoes. BF came walking into the kitchen:

ME: You bought yourself Lean Cuisines?
BF: No, I took my mom grocery shopping yesterday and while we were in the freezer section I saw that they were 4 for $10 so I thought of you and figured you might want some.
ME: Aw, babe! Thank you!
BF: I rolled the dice and just picked out two kinds I thought you might like. How'd I do?
ME: Not bad. You were 100% on the meatloaf one but the turkey tenderloin is 50/50. Love the meat, don't care for the veggies.
BF: Well, I figured if you don't like them, I'll eat 'em. (takes the carton from me) This one has 21 grams of protein! (He's a weight lifter-muscley-look at my abs kind of guy; protein is important)
ME: Do you know how small the portions are? (The man eats like a Clydesdale. I'm no fool.)
BF: Then I'll just have two!

:rotfl:

That was so sweet of him! The LC panini's are my saving grace. I like to keep one or two in the freezer for the nights I don't want to bother making anything more. I tried the new flatbread ones and didn't care for them at all. Ick!

As for me, I stepped on the Battery-Powered Torture Device this morning and it (grudgingly, I think) told me I've lost another pound, for a total of 7 pounds gone! And I am now in size 14's (was in 16's).
But I wonder...when you go from 16 to 14's, is that considered 1 size or 2 sizes?

7 pounds is great! Congratulations! Congrats on the size 16's too!

Does anyone have any idea approximately how many lbs you need to lose to go down a size? I know it's really dependent on exercise/muscle etc. but I was just looking for a general idea. :confused3

I don't personally like Dr. Pepper (tastes like medicine to me) but someone once told me that Diet Dr. Pepper tastes enough like the original that she could hardly tell the difference and it totally stemmed her craving.

I used to drink Coke Zero for this same reason and it worked for a while, but then I found it started to have an aftertaste.

Diet Ginger Ale, though, does it for me every time!

I love regular Dr. Pepper, but don't really like diet Dr. Pepper even though most people say it tastes the same. My go to soda of choice though is Cherry Coke Zero or Sprite Zero. (Mostly Cherry zero though). I even like the diet cherry 7 up although I hate regular diet 7 up.

Just one. ::sigh:: After years in retail, I was quick to learn that even number sizes are "Women's" and odd number sizes are "Junior's" and that one jump down in either, despite the loss of two numerals, is just one size.

JERKS.

I'm waffling between 14's and 16's and the odd 18 (stupid hips) here and there myself. It all depends on what part of my body I'm fitting. In tops that aren't fighted or button down, I'm mostly a Large. Button downs are a joke - the large is too small for the girls (which go NOWHERE no matter how much I lose) and the X-Large is too baggy everywhere else.

Currently I'm between a 16 and an 18 for dresses and bottoms. (If they are looser in the hips a 16, fitted stuff an 18). Tops though are always difficult to fit. I end up needing a large or x large for the girls, but I'm small in the shoulders so they always end up fitting really oddly. I usually end up getting things a bit smaller so I can wear them more fitted. I hate wearing anything that fits like a tent. I've given up on button down tops over the years. Either they fit too big, or buttons are straining unattractively. Just not worth the bother anymore.

It definitely varies from person to person and where the weight is lost but the "general" rule of thumb I find is between 10-15lbs per size.

Actually, I should've written this earlier but you can actually tailor them if you buy them big enough to fit your largest part. They'll 'dart' them to fit well everywhere else. I, for one, though, don't have enough cash right now to tailor all my shirts. Particularly if I'm still losing.

wings~ It depends on the person. For me, about 8 pounds.

You are my diet soda twin. :lmao:

Tinkerbellerella - between buying you LC's and moving all of your worldly possessions while you are in WDW, you have quite a guy there! Does he have a brother? ;)

In terms of grocery shopping I am finding that using Stop and Shop's peapod delivery service works for me -- no choice but to stick to the list!

I love LC panini's!!!:thumbsup2

For me I'm down ~15 lbs and I'm still not down a full size I wouldn't say- maybe for some things. :confused3 I guess I was just really stuffing myself into the last size pants and now they are fitting comfortably :sad2:

Does anyone have any suggestions for motivating workout songs? Sexyback is my current fave (current for me) but you can only listen to that so much!

Maybe some old J. Lo? Like "If You Had my Love" or "Waiting for Tonight"? I also like that one from Santana with Rob Thomas but I can't think of the name.
Or NKOTB. :lmao:

K. See that lil' button to the right of the 'Quote' button? Click that for each post you want to quote. Then, once you're ready to start replying, just click 'Post Reply' at the bottom of the screen and all of the posts you selected will be lined up one by one. You should start your response after the part that says
.

You can also edit down to the selected post to what you'd specifically like to post by deleting text within the start of the quote (where the person's screenname appears and that ending
.

Make sense?

That is awesome progress!!! Congrats.

Congrats everyone on their losses! That is awesome! Even if they say it's just one dress size, I'm going to pretend it's two. Makes me feel better. ;)

I use Bob Marley to work out. It's not pump up music by any means. For some reason it makes me think of Florida or El Caribe and.....rum soaked umbrella drinks. It motivates me to the point that I no longer want to look like a polar bear on the beach. And it's calming...the music, not the image of me looking like a polar bear. I'm pasty white, not furry like a bear though!

I guess it depends on what your music tastes are....because I have everything on my ipod from Rolling Stones to Rihanna to Katie Perry to Coldplay. I get confused easily and can never make a decision on what I really like. As you can see by musical choices.

Anyways, keep up the good work friends and hopefully when p-day comes around and we step on the battery powered torture device, it is a lovey and not a liar. :goodvibes

Ooh, Otis Redding "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" and Santos and Johnny's "Sleepwalking". Two of my favorites. ::sigh::
Those are lovely songs for thinking of warm sand, warm water and sunshine. I grew up in FL and even though there is someone there I wouldn't want to live near I'd love to live there again.

And edited to add: Another old CD that brings me back to good memories in FL? Millenium by Backstreet Boys.

Awesome music choices group!

Totally love me some Prince....Tink, that makes me want to put some on my ipod. And Sittin on the Dock of the Bay, great beach song.

Oh to be on the beach and not in my office... *sigh*

Thanks for the recommendations on tunes! I am downloading a few on itunes as we speak and that should motivate me to get on the elliptical for a while! I lost 3 lbs last week (the 2 I'd gained the previous week plus 1). Hopefully I can continue the loss this week!!
