shows or attractions that should close

3) Canada movie at Epcot WS - what an embarrasment to my country - that movie is ancient - time for an update! :furious:

According to the latest rumors, they're filming a new movie for it

It goes without saying that Epcot could have a lot of work done, but I realize they are in the process. The country films need to be updated, and there are empty pavillions! But it is still a fantastic park.

I have to say I am still least impressed with AK. I think it needs more attractions.

Which pavilions at Epcot are empty? I don't know of any.

Also while DAK might seem to lack attractions it has the safari, Dinosaur, EE, Bugs Life, Lion King, Kali Rapids -- some of the best rides/shows in WDW.

And I do think the Backlot Tour has lost so much. I remember when the tour took hours when MGM first opened! You learned so much and, SURPRISE, they were actually filing things there.
I couldn't agree with you more! The LMASS removed a tremendous amount of the TBLT. It just isn't the same without the neighborhood with the Golden Girls' house.

Cranium Command is a really awesome show, really really funny, I wish they would open that one.

My personal attraction I feel needs to go big time is:

Snow White's Scary Adventures

This ride is super crappy and scares the crud out of the very audience it appeals to most (preschoolers). Fantasyland is ripe for a high quality princess themed ride in this spot.

I originally said that I didn't think anything should go, but I must agree that this ride should be revamped, if nothing else. It is too scary for young children.

There are so many guests that don't have the opportunity to experience WDW as many times as some people on this board. I am fortunate enough that I go quite a few times every year.

I would feel terrible for someone that has only been once or twice miss out on something that is a classic because some people think it's boring or not worth the time & Disney changes it.

Small World is a classic, along with Tiki Birds (even though it's changed), Swiss Family Robinson & so many other things. Could some things use some updating - sure - but I think I feel that way because I've seen things numerous times. For first timers, I bet the majority of it is amazing! :goodvibes

The only thing that I really want to see go is Stitch. And the fact that he's all over the parks is annoying, too. Especially the Monorail spiel. I cannot stand that he's in it! Stitch's Great Escape is a horrible attraction. I saw it once and will never, ever go to it again and never, ever recommend it to anyone.

By the way - threads like these are good because people from Disney actually READ these and make recommendations for the parks, hotels, transportation, etc.

1 - Snow White

2 - HISTA

3 - Indiana Jones

4 - Ellen at UE

5 - Sounds Dangerous

I think threads like this are mean. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean someone else won't. I don't believe any attraction in Disney doesn't have at least some fans.

Naaaaw... not mean. It's just people having varying opinions about things. If all we can say is how much we really really really like X,Y,or Z imagine how dull that would be. I certainly don't mean to offend anyone by mentioning the rides I did. Nor will I be offended when some of my favorites are named.

I think Ellen's Energy Adventure is a huge improvement over the original attraction. I like Ellen and think she is funny. But, if you don't like Ellen you won't like the attraction, so I can understand why some don't care for it.

I didn't care for Stitch but my DD(8) loved it, so we will probably do it again. I liked AE much better, but Disney took a lot of flack for having something that scary in MK.

Sounds Dangerous
The boat ride in the Mexico Pavillion
Honey I Shrunk the Audience
Stitch
Extreme Stunt Show - I miss the old backlot tour
I like the train out to the Conservation Station, but I'd wish they'd add some more animals

The thing I always wondered about this is why both theaters were changed to Stitch. I know setting up the lines and the preshows would have been a problem, but they could have had two attractions instead of one. :confused3

BTW, we like Stitch better than AE. :stitch2:

I was not aware that there are 2 theaters. I thought there was one preshow area and one theater.

There isn't much that I'd say to get rid of. Sure, the Treehouse is boring, but my kids just saw it for the first time and thought it was really neat. Snow White WAS too scary for them, as I had expected. But personally, I don't know that it should be removed. I did love Mr. Toad's Wild Ride too though.

The boad ride in The Land is one of our favorites. My 6 year old wanted to ride it immediately when it was done. The same goes with Journey into Imagination (I still love this ride as well), Spaceship Earth, and Energy. We love all of them. My youngest absolutely loved Test Track, and was very disappointed that it had to shut down when it rained.

I miss AE, and liked it much better than Stitch. My kids were not scared in Stitch, but they didn't like it (Stitch BURPED ON ME and SPIT ON ME! - they didn't like that, which is amazing for two boys who can walk outside for 2 seconds and be covered in mud, it was just a little water). But, AE would have been WAY too scary for them. Having a character they knew as being mischevious made it do-able for them. Still, for me, I liked AE better.

I agree with other posters who have said that the readers of this board are not necessarily the typical Disney visitor. I know TONS of people who have never ever been, and have plans to go in the near (or not so near) future. Now, having heard of all of these classic Disney attractions, imagine their disappointment in not getting to see them because people (like me) who can't find another place to visit for vacation are getting bored with the attractions. :rotfl2: Updates are needed, rides should get to looking old and ragged. Animatronics should be updated as technology improves (compare the new Jack Sparrow on PoTC to Ellen - BIG difference). Rides that talk about technology/progress/future should be updated so that they seem current. But I like to see the mainstays, actually stay.
