I've been following along on this thread for quite awhile and now I finally get to join in. I was going to wait until I started a planning journal to put this up, but I just can't resist any longer!

Here's my engagement ring that my DF picked out all on his own. I absolutely adore it and can't stop staring down out it!

try this again. We got engaged on 7/27. I am in love with the ring. I helped pick out the band and he picked the center stone on his own. He was living in Texas while I was still living in IL. And the day I moved in, after a 14 hour drive, he had the entire apartment lit with candles and proposed when I walked in the door.

No problem, I don't mind. It's white gold. I really wasn't expecting it to be that big, but he said when he saw it he knew it was it. Its funny cus I catch him looking at it all the time!

I was amazed when I saw it, because it definitely is unique. It's actually an antique, so it could very well be one-of-a-kind. (I'll tell myself that anyway, even if it isn't the case! lol)

My DF proposed on June 17th. The ring he gave me is very special. The stone on the left came off of my great grandmother's engagement ring and the one on the right came off of my mother's engagement ring. The one in the middle is the one he picked out for me, so it all brings new meaning to a the past-present-futured 3-stone setting. <3

Boyfriend... well now fiancee (eep!) proposed on the 21st near Cinderella's Wishing Well. While I won't be a Disney bride, I'm still hoping we'll have a bit of Disney flair to our at home wedding and there will definitely be a Disneymoon.

well since my sister posted hers right above i figured i should follow hers up.

we just got engaged three days ago on our way to dinner at the san angel inn. it was suppose to happen inside during dinner but he was so excited he couldn't wait, i'm glad he didn't or else we would have never gotten photos of it because it is so dark in there!!

he picked it out all on his own and did such a great job, i can't stop staring at it!!!!

yes it is. my favorite color is purple and i even though like diamonds i knew i wanted something that would really stand out. so i gave him a few ideas i said emerald cut amethyst i could not be happier with what he chose

That's awesome! I'm glad to know that more and more brides like me are picking rings using stones they actually really like : I love amethyst, too but I've been looking at different colored sapphires lately.
