no doubt i've asked this before but what did you use to convert these? i like the tonal quality ( wow that sounded like i actually know what that meant, maybe i should go back and change it to "pretty colors":lmao: )

I'll join in - this is my first B&W conversion. I went from this:

I'd only had my camera 2 weeks when I took this and kept forgetting to take the date off :sad2:

Thanks- I used the Gorman Method, I usually pick a very dark brown tone in lieu of black when converting- no real reason other than my personal preference.

Thats nice- yes I was doing the Gorman method by hand when I first got CS2 - until I learned about actions. You can download this or many other B&W actions for CS2 at Action Central.

Not sure about Elements 5 but I downloaded a B&W Conversion plug-in for Elements 4 at Photo-Plugins that I still use freequently.

A couple that I did of my middle son a few weeks ago....

Oh...and this one the lighting was pretty harsh and it didn't come out very clear (I had a moving target!), but I thought that you guys might appreciate what he was holding!

How sweet! You could crop it a bit and get rid of the date that way. I think it would look great as tighter close-up. :)

All right, this one isn't black and white, but it is sepia. I think it is real neat, we went walking thru the cornfield accross from our house and I found this ear of corn, very unusal!
