Show Me the Cupcakes!!!

No more smores?:eek:That was the most awesome cupcake. ast summer we stayed at the BWV's for 2 weeksWe tried many many cupcakes and everybody loved that one.

Maybe Smores cupcakes are seasonal at Boardwalk Bakery? I didn't see them March 2012 or March 2011.

I haven't made it all the way through the thread yet but just in case it hasn't been mentioned I wanted to say there's a chocolate raspberry cupcake at Sunshine Seasons that is great!

I too love the plastic cupcake containers when we can find them.

And thanks for mentioning the caramel cupcake in Germany - somehow we completely missed that - got to try one on our next trip!

Can you describe the chocolate raspberry cupcake in more detail? Are there fresh berries in it or a gel or jam of some sort? What is the icing like? Thanks!

Here is a picture of the Capuccino Chocolate Cupcake from Pizza Planet at Hollywood Studios. It was my favorite dessert of our entire stay! I'm not a big coffee drinker, but it had a subtle coffee taste and the perfect amount of sweetness!

P.S.: If it's carrot cake doesn't it count as a vegetable and doesn't that make it...ahem...healthy?! :rotfl2:

You're correct. Just like quadruple layered caramel apples are good for us. Apples are fruit and we should have 3-5 servings a day. :thumbsup2

It's on the corner, behind the tip board ;)

I just couldn't picture where this bakery is, but I think I can picture the tip board at Hollywood and Sunset. It would be before you get to the candy shop, correct?

:rotfl2::rotfl2: and i believe that they are 0 points for us people doing Weight Watchers!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Cupcakes and any other treat in WDW are always zero calories. That's one of the most important jobs that the pixie dust has to take care of. pixiedust:

I've been to WDW 15 times and I've never had one of these cupcakes. I don't know how I didn't know about them, but I'm sure gonna make up for it this year. I'm going to look allover to try and find a container to bring some home with me, too, to treat the family back home (I'm going with friends). Sorry, but this is all I can write right now. My keyboard has too much drool in it; iiit''s noott reeaal y w orkinggg an y y moreeeee

This was also one of my favorites. I don't like coffee, but this cupcake was divine!

This is the second time I have seen cupcakes as a dessert offering at DHS counter services -- has this become a standard option there? I would be so excited if it was!

It is a standard option at Pizza Planet. Most of the other cupcakes at DHS are at Starring Rolls.

Okay, so after seeing all these yummy cupcakes I had to stop by DHS the other day to try a cupcake from Starring Rolls.

This is the Butterfinger Cupcake. It is chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, chocolate filling inside the cupcake and butterfinger on the outside.

It was HUGE and must have weighed a pound, lol.

The butterfinger cupcake is awesome, I tried my first one this past January but had to have DD10 help me finish it because it was so huge and rich...but very yummy :goodvibes. When we go back in Aug/Sept we plan on eating there again a couple of times and one of the days I want to try the marble cupcake. I can feel myself gaining weight just thinking about it :rotfl:.

I'm currently working on 'making' a portable cupcake holder to transport 4-6 cupcakes from WDW back to my home via a 2 1/2 hour air flight for my trip in November! LOL I've been thinking about these cupcakes ever since I saw them on this thread and on the Disney Food Blog.

The cupcake transporter is a good idea, but just so you know, Starring Rolls has black boxes that resemble the old chinese takeaway containers. (Not all locations do). They are large enough to carry a super size cupcake safely home. If you let them know that you are traveling they will pack them super well for you. The boxes line up beautifully in two rows of 3 across the bottom of the standard reusable tote bag. Every one of our 14 got home perfect. (I did carry them on.) Good luck on the construction project, I am sure we would all love pics (may even be a market for them, ka-ching)!

HI there, do the airlines allow you to carry on food like a cupcake? This is a good idea!

No problem with cupcakes. The airlines are just concerned with liquids. (and some have regulations concerning international transport of meats and fruits and veggies.) Mind you, the security guys were licking their lips and may have considered confiscating them for their break snack.

How many cupcakes did they put in each box? My DH & I got a couple cupcakes to bring home the last time we were at DHS. The girl at the checkout only gave us one box & said to lay them on their side. Supposedly, they fit perfectly that way. Well, they didn't for us. :confused3 We only have an hour drive, & our cupcakes were a smashed up mess when we got home. They still tasted great, but we had to scrape the icing off the side of the box & eat the cupcakes with a fork to get cake & icing together. I'd like to have some cupcake holders to hold them securely, so they're intact when we get home.

mickeye, please let us know how your cupcake holder turns out.

One cupcake per box. The CM's even wrapped a piece of wax paper around each one to keep it from tipping. You also first turn the box on it's side and then slide in the cupcake standing up. Seal box and keep it frosting side up and it worked for us with no mushing.

That's good to know. The CM wouldn't give us a box per cupcake though. We asked for another one. She insisted one box was enough for two cupcakes. We weren't given any wax paper either. As with all things WDW, it just depends on who you talk to I suppose.

Red Velvet Cheesecake Cupcake, covered with Toffee ~ $3.99 (from Starring Rolls Cafe at Disney Hollywood Studios). This cupcake was so good, definitely my favorite .

The Cheesecake was firm, and not foamy, like a regular frosting would be. Just perfect!

This upcoming trip we are going to try Starring Rolls and Boardwalk Bakery, thanks to this post!!! So excited to cupcake it out for my 28th birthday!!!
