Show Me the Cupcakes!!!

Here is a picture of the Capuccino Chocolate Cupcake from Pizza Planet at Hollywood Studios. It was my favorite dessert of our entire stay! I'm not a big coffee drinker, but it had a subtle coffee taste and the perfect amount of sweetness!

This was my favorite cupcake of our last trip also, and was bummed when someone wrote recently that it was gone now. Has anyone seen them lately?

The cupcake transporter is a good idea, but just so you know, Starring Rolls has black boxes that resemble the old chinese takeaway containers. (Not all locations do). They are large enough to carry a super size cupcake safely home. If you let them know that you are traveling they will pack them super well for you. The boxes line up beautifully in two rows of 3 across the bottom of the standard reusable tote bag. Every one of our 14 got home perfect. (I did carry them on.) Good luck on the construction project, I am sure we would all love pics (may even be a market for them, ka-ching)!

Thanks for the info, Marblies. BTW, I love your name because it reminds me of the 'Marble' cupcake at the Starring Rolls Bakery! :lmao: I'm glad that they have boxes for them, but I'll go ahead with my plans to make my 'CC Transporter' for two reasons. One, because I may run into the kind of CM who won't give us more than one box or wax paper and two, I feel it's now my 'Mission' to carry out this important experiment for all of the cupcake lovers here at the Dis! :goodvibes

How many cupcakes did they put in each box? My DH & I got a couple cupcakes to bring home the last time we were at DHS. The girl at the checkout only gave us one box & said to lay them on their side. Supposedly, they fit perfectly that way. Well, they didn't for us. :confused3 We only have an hour drive, & our cupcakes were a smashed up mess when we got home. They still tasted great, but we had to scrape the icing off the side of the box & eat the cupcakes with a fork to get cake & icing together. I'd like to have some cupcake holders to hold them securely, so they're intact when we get home. mickeye, please let us know how your cupcake holder turns out.

I certainly will Tarheel. I'll be posting a photo or two and directions as soon as it's finished (although it may be several weeks). I realize what an awesome responsibility I have to all of my cupcake loving Dis Friends out there. After all I owe you guys. I've been to WDW well over a dozen times and I knew nothing about these little beauties until a couple months ago when I discovered the 'Dis' and the 'Disney Food Blog'. Four things that I'm most looking forward to are: our first Christmas trip, Cupcakes, Caramel Kitchen and AoA Resort!!!

Oh no!!! :scared1: I really want to get these chocolate cappuccino cupcakes!

WHAT....Pizza Planet has CUPCAKES!?!!???! Every year I like the pizza and salad enough, and of course the kids want to eat there to play games after they eat....but the dessert was always the blah cookies or rice krispie treats. I liked neither.....but I love me some cupcakes! I hope they still offer that in October.

Darth Vader cupcake coming to Star Wars Weekends
May 08, 2012

Darth Vader and cupcakes go together like oil and water, but Star Wars fans are sure to get a kick out of this creation for the upcoming Star Wars Weekends. The "Darth Vader" cupcake will be sold at the Starring Rolls Bakery, ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, Studio Catering Company, and Pizza Planet.

It's lunch time, and this thread just made me so hungry!

We've had the chocolate peanut butter and the red velvet cupcakes from Starring Rolls and omg were they delicious. We probably should've just agreed on one and shared because I think we both felt like we wanted to die after eating them. Definitely worth it though.

The Oreo Bon Bon cupcake looks pretty good, might have to try that my next trip down.

Only plan on spending one morning/afternoon at DHS. I'm wondering if my DBf and I can polish off four Starring Rolls cupcakes in one day! I highly doubt it but it will be fun to try :rotfl2: ;)

Just curious if you are going to slip in RR and ToT in between trips to Starring Rolls?

Thank you for everyone posting in this thread! Apparently there's been a cupcake explosion since my last trip in 2010 and now I have lots of tasty dessert options when I go back in October! Keep the pics and reviews coming!

Looking at the pics here really wound up my sweet tooth, I had to grab my emergency caramel rice cakes to avoid totally derailing my day by a trip to the local bakery on my way home from work, lol!

I'm not into SW, but that cupcake is really yummy looking. I am into chocolate. :goodvibes

I wonder if I could buy cupcakes at Starring Rolls and have them delivered to my room? Maybe they's have to be delivered to the gift shop? Has anyone tried ?

I don't think the restaurants are set up for package delivery.

I'm thinking you probably can't. We bought some items at the gift shop in AK and asked to have them sent to the front of the park. They took everything but wouldn't deliver a small bag of chocolate coins that DD had bought. It got me thinking that they won't take things that could melt (or maybe any food items at all:confused:).
