Should we upgread to DDP

We are 4 adults going on a last min trip to WDW in Aug, We have the qsdp but would like to upgread but with it being 3 wks away and free dining is there any point. TIA

before you decide to upgrade to reg dining plan, you might want to see if you can get adr's at any restaurants that you want to eat at. Otherwise, you're going to be stuck on line waiting for a first available table.... at least if you can get adr's you want, then you'll know if it's worth upgrading. I believe you have only a small window of opportunity to make the upgrade before you go, so keep that in mind. Have fun !

Also check to see what the price difference is if you upgrade to a moderate resort. With 4 adults in the room, that's another $40 per night to upgrade the DDP. That might just cover the price to book at a moderate and then you would have a bit larger room, fridge and a pool with a slide.

definitely go online & see if you can get reservations at the places you'd like to eat...character meals are probably out, but as a party of 4 adults I'll bet you can find some places you'll like, even at this late date. We're going in mid-September on a weekend, and I'm still changing & re-arranging with many choices available.

As for upgrading to a moderate...first, since you're going early in the free dining offer, you may find there are no mod rooms available. They only set aside a certain number of rooms per resort, and that first couple of weeks the hotels book up since families can still go (many schools not back in session until Labor Day) But, even if a room is available, a mod would cost you about $85 more a night...so $45 more than just staying in the value & paying for the dining upgrade. If you really want a fridge, you can rent one at the value for $10 night. The slides at the mods may not be all-that for a party of adults -- fun for kids, but not like water-park slides. The mods do have hot-tubs if that's important to you.

Wow, the price difference has increased between the two levels of resorts. I thought that it was about $50 more to go up to a moderate.
