Should we try Yak & Yeti?

Should we give Y&Y TS a try?

  • Go for it, you'll love it!

  • Run the other way, we have better Asian food at home!

Pondering ADRs for our next trip.
What did you think of Y&Y's table service??
Should we give it a go, or run the other way??

We loved it! Best meal of our February 2008 trip, we already have our ADR made for September. My motto try everywhere once, and make your own decision for your families tastes.

We ate counter-service lunch there on Christmas Eve & it was good!
Try it!

We now have an ADR there for dinner this summer.

Had an ADR for Y&Y for our past trip but due to a stupid snow storm we missed it since we lost nearly 2 days of our trip. Plan on trying to check it out March '09 though. :thumbsup2

We ate there in early December and liked it VERY much (check out the dining review and pix in my tripreport = signature). We already have an ADR for our upcoming trip and we are SO looking forward to it!!

We loved it as well. It was the best lunch of our May 2008 trip and we will be going back. And we do have Asian food here at home.

DH and I ate at Yak & Yeti in April. We were very happy with the food and the service. We even had a partially obstructed view of the parade. My only complaint was 'too much food'. I ordered lettuce cups and egg rolls - both appetizers. I did not want an entree. As I recall, I got three BIG egg rolls. Way too much. Ask the server about size of portions before you make assumptions. (I could have gotten a side dish of egg rolls that would have been less food.) Of course you could also plan on sharing.

we ate there in January. It was a great place to get out of the crowds, cool off, and have a great lunch. We were seated upstairs at a window and people watched. The service wasn't the best, but the food was great and like others have posted - huge servings. There is also a small bar with menu just inside the restaurant, besides the counter service. This is a picture of dd deliberating her sundae - her dad was happy to help her finish it off.

I guess I am going to be the lone dissenter here. I ate there this past May and was not impressed. I asked for a table upstairs and was simply told no, I had to take whatever I got. My waitress was very nice, but brought my entree out with my appetizer. I asked her to please take it back until I finished my appetizer. I then had to flag her down to get my entree back. When it arrived my duck and stir fried vegetables were COLD. Yuck! I had to wave her down again and when I told her what was wrong she looked at me like I had two heads, said "Well you told me to take it back until you finished your appetizer". She then just walked away. I had to wave her down again and when I told her I didn't want cold duck, she looked at me very confused for a minute, then said there was nothing she could do about it. I finally gave up trying to talk to her, told her to take it away, and bring my dessert. The green bean appetizer and the pineapple wonton dessert I had was good, but I got tired of trying to deal with the ditzy waitress. I couldn't believe it when the duck appeared on my ticket. Thank goodness I was on the DxDDP, or I would have been upset. As it was I tipped her for the price of the green beans and wontons only and feel she was lucky to get that, since I didn't get to eat my duck. Oh, yes, not the restaurants fault, but there was a family just behind me that had a crying toddler that they just kept ignoring. He screamed in my ear throughout most of my meal. All in all, it was not a pleasant experience.

However, saying all of that, I have an ADR there for lunch for my Sept trip and am going to give it another try. Hopefullly, I'll get a different waitress and an upstairs table.

It's ok for lunch--to get out of the heat and away from the crowds. The food is "fair", service pretty good, portion size I found just average.

Well we went in May as well it wasn't good. The food was very dry and chewy to eat. My DH had Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp and I had the BBQ ribs. The ribs I had at Flame tree BBQ were better than these. Service was very poor. We were on the DDP and the waiter asked for room key and kept it for our whole meal. When we asked for it back, he said he needed to check for the DDP and he was suppose to keep it. This made us uneasy since we had room charges privileges. Also we had to ask for drinks 4X and when it came to the bill we were given a bill for what it looked like was their amt from Disney. When asked for itemized bill, he said no and to figure our tip based on $35 pp. So we figured the tip on the bill we were given, which was $35. I think that is all he deserved. We may never go back or if we do it will be in along ways down the road but I have heard more good than bad reviews. So give it try!!!
