A friend of mine suggested that we make ADR every night while at WDW. I don't want to obligate us into doing something every night while there (we are there for 4 nights and 5 days ) Have a reservation at Chef Mickey's for breakfast already and a reservation for Hoop Dee Doo Revue for 7 evening show. Please help!!!! I am afraid if we do make a ressie every evening we will be busy in the parks but if we don't we'll wish we would have. Input please

Hi,
You didn't mention when you were going. If it is anytime between now and October I would definitely suggest making an ADR every night. You can always cancel if you aren't going to make it. There are quite a few times we have made ADRs and haven't been able to show up. As long as it isn't a restaurant with a credit card guarantee then you are okay if you don't show up.

Don't get me wrong, we do try to show up but we would much rather have an ADR then show up and not be able to get in anywhere to eat.

So I would say YES definitely make an ADR everynight especially if you are on the dining plan. You would hate to have all those yummy table service credits and not be able to get in anywhere.

YES definitely book in advance. We just returned and I actually changed 1 res. while we were there but it was very difficult to get any reasonable times. I had to take a 350pm dinner cause that was the only available time until after 815pm every night..which is too late for our kids.
You can always change or cancel when you get there but its peace of mind to have some adr's.

Yes, I would also suggest it. We had one Saturday in November that there was not a place on Disney to eat TS. It was a busy week-end, but they have ALLOT of restaurants at Disney!!! All the other nights I had ADR's, so I have no idea how those were. We cancelled and "re-made" reservations several times when we went in May while we were there because we ended up doing things other than we planned, but if all else failed, we still knew that we did have those meals. I usually make 2 TS a day, brunch or lunch and then a dinner.

Should you make a reservation for every evening you will be in the parks?

Only if you plan to eat every evening.

Enjoy.

If you are on the dining plan, then YES! If not and you don't mind CS, then it's not as important.

I would much rather have an ADR and not use it (of course make sure you cancel) then need one and be out of luck.

Once in the parks, we don't leave to go back to our rooms. So, we use our meals as a time to relax and get out of the heat. You might want to consider that as well.

A few questions to ask youself first. Are you on DP? If yes, I would make your ADR's. Do you have to have at least one sitdown meal (TS)? If yes, I would make your ADR's. Do you like to have your TS meals at breakfast, lunch or dinner?

When we made a few ADR's for our June 17-24 trip, we looked at what park we would be at and then made our ADR's. We like to eat TS meals at late breakfast or early lunch. Hit the parks early and them have a TS meal. The only TS meal we have at night is our first night at CM. We don't have an ADR for every day. Good Luck!

Even if you're not going during free dining, if you want a table service meal for dinner, you need to make ADRs. Many restaurants are not taking walkups anymore, so if you don't have an ADR and they're booked for the night, they will turn you away. This doesn't just apply to the theme parks, even the resort restaurants will be booked up. I took a trip with my Mom shortly after they started offering the dining plan, made no ADRs, and we ended up eating a LOT more counter service than we'd planned to.

Don't chance it. You can always cancel the ADR if your plans change.

If you're only going for 4 nights, I would make an ADR for each night. You can always cancel.

Ditto OP-make ADRs. Even if your plans change (ours always do) at least you'll have an option of someplace nice to eat just in case you can't get in anywhere else. Since planning each day is not my thing, I always plan some meals (we only do TS lunch or dinners) outside of parks. Kona, Park Faire, CG, etc. That way if we aren't at a park I have the ADR's for, it's not that big of a problem. Also, I cancel any ADRs I'm not using as soon as I know (even if only 1 few hours before). I usually schedule my within the park ADRs for dinner at whichever park has late EMH.

If you want to eat where you want make ADR's

I suggest leaving a couple dates "open". We had a couple of ressies at restaurants that took 2 TS's so we had a couple dates open and we were glad we did. By the end of our trip we were just flat STUFFED  Especially since a lot of the food we ate was pretty heavy, we just needed a night off.

I'm in agreement with all the rest...unless you want to fight counter service for every meal, I would make a TS for everyday since you can always cancel...it is especially nice when in the parks to be able to sit down for a while.
