Should we have a touring plan for MNSSHP?

I have never been and wasn't planning on having a plan for MNSSHP. We've planned our other days much more than usual due to FP+ and I'm hoping we really don't need to plan MNSSHP. But, if y'all think we should plan it, then we will! My kids don't have any characters that are must-sees so the plan was just to see one if the line wasn't crazy. We want to do some rides during it, treat-or-treating, parade and fireworks. (We have two full days at MK before, so we won't focus on the rides but they definitely want to do some). We're going on a Tuesday in Sept, so I'm guessing likely a less crowded party than most.

Maybe not a touring plan per say, but it would be helpful to make a rough plan in order to see the entertainment and fit in characters/rides/trick or treating in between. Decide which parade you want to see, and make sure you find a spot for Hallowishes about 15 minutes before it starts.

I would get there as soon close to 4 PM as you can, and do rides and have dinner before the 7 PM party starts, so that you can focus party time on party specific activities. There are plenty of character greets that are super fun but don't have ridiculous waits. Our favorite was Tarzan/Jane/Terk in Adventureland. They were a hoot and we waited maybe 10 minutes for them.

Thank you for replying! We're planning on the first parade, as we don't know how late our kids will manage. (The youngest and oldest could likely make it to midnight, but the middle child probably can't).

So, 15 minutes ahead is enough time to find a spot then? We're not huge wait-people most of the time so we hadn't planned on any more than that. (That's why we do the off-season!)

I'll keep Tarzan in mind. I bet my youngest son would love that. (And my daughter would love that there's a girl there too. Eldest son would roll his eyes and act too-cool but secretly think it was okay. As long as we don't do too many characters, he semi-cooperates with visiting them).
