Should we extend a night and stay at BC/YC?

Going fourth of July week.
We were all set to leave the 3rd. HOWEVER, due to Delta reshuffling so many flights, we may have to rebook to leave the 4th.
We are thinking about splurging for our extra night and staying one night at BC/YC and spending the 4th at SAB before our flight.
Should we do it? Or add a night somewhere cheap? (We also stand to get money BACK on our flights if we rebook, so on paper it works out to be not costing as much out of pocket as the "sticker price" on BC/YC).

[Obligatory yes we know about covid and all of that and this may not happen, but I'm going stir crazy at home and let me plan even if its all a fantasy in my head:duck:]

I would do it.

Thinking best case scenario, you could extend your park tickets and go see the fireworks at Epcot in the evening before walking back to your room. Worst case, you get a relaxing day at the pool.

I'm staying at the Beach Club DVC Villas from the 5th-9th, and am going even if the parks are still closed so that I can enjoy SAB as well.

Actually we already have park tickets for the 3rd :) our original flight wasn't leaving until like 8:30 PM. We were kind of thinking the same, fireworks on the 3rd at EPCOT.

Do it, if the cost of the room isn't much more than the refund you get from the flights, it's a perfect time to "splurge" for the resort and enjoy SAB. If you don't, you might regret not doing it but I doubt when you are hanging at the resort you will regret saying yes.

Honestly, with the state of the world right now, NOTHING sounds better than floating in the lazy river in the sunshine with an adult beverage :sunny:

Wouldn't this be in the form of a travel voucher from your airline? I've only been keeping up with Southwest, but haven't heard of any refunds back to the original form of payment. But either way, I would splurge on it. It will be nice to look forward to when (hopefully) all of this craziness will be over!

Do it! Remember, they have showers you can use now if you want to swim before heading to the airport. The 10% Orbitz code works, too, for an extra few bucks off.

When we spoke to them on the phone and explained the situation, they say they would refund the cost of our return travel if we were unable to rebook on suitable similar accommodations. It may also just be because we have status with them and complained enough. I know several people with our airline who got refunds simply because they complained enough haha.

We did a 2 night stay at WDW post a local wedding in Orlando as a treat to ourselves. I started out at Pop Century thinking let's do it the least expensive way possible. And then one night I was tooling around on the website and saw the per night room only price and jumped at it. I justified it that I would never be able to afford a 7 night stay like our normal trip.

Wait. Record scratch. I remember why now. Our original flight was cancelled altogether and changed times by more than an hour. We are entitled to a refund if we want one, and Delta is willing to issue one if we can't come to an agreement. There we go. Sorry. Brain tired.

Gotcha! Makes sense. In that case, I would definitely go with the splurge!

A night at YC/BC is always a good choice. We didn't care that much for SAB (my kids are older and it didn't hold any thrill for them given that the pool is shallow like all Disney pools), however walking to Epcot for an evening or even walking along the Boardwalk is a lot a fun. If you haven't done it before you should. Good luck with the flight changes!

Is there availability for the night in question? If so, I'd do it. We stayed at BC for two nights during our last trip and that pool is amazing. My kids totally want to go back just for the pool.
