We're headed down in late January to do 2 days at Universal January 29 and 30 before a few days at Disney. We planned the days before we knew about the Harry Potter Celebration, and picked weekdays in hopes of less crowds so we could do both parks, and especially Harry Potter in both parks.

We're staying at the Hard Rock for 1 night so we will have early entry and express passes for the non-Harry Potter rides etc.

Will the Harry Potter Celebration make it crazy on Friday the 30th or do you think we'll be OK.

I have the same doubt ;)

We were there this year during the celebration and the parks were fine. Based on this year, I'd expect that there's nothing to worry about for touring purposes. And you might get extras. This year they had warm butterbeer for sale to anyone if you were in WW in the morning (we never were). And we chanced upon the opportunity to meet Evanna Lynch. :)

We had the same concern, but coming from Washington State, with plane tickets and all planned, can't really move things. Your feedback is REALLY nice to hear!

PS: Bumbershoot - what was the Evanna Lynch line like? She's back this year, and my 10 year old daughter is a huge fan - in fact, she's got the fantastic, dreamy spacy personality (hard to parent!) so much that when she dressed as Luna for Halloween a year ago, we all teased her that no costume was necessary! And she agreed!

If lines were bad, I was tempted to not let my daughter know that Luna was on-site!

Thanks again!

We literally saw her walking by in the seating area/patio behind the Three Broomsticks and asked her if we could take a picture with her. She was en route somewhere and was gracious enough to take a moment with us (and before us a few adult fans in hogwarts robes). We had decided to not take part in the festivities, and yet got that moment.
