I am doing my packing for our trip down Friday. Is it worse to put on a poncho in 90 degree temps or just get wet and tough it out?

We have the yellow Disney ponchos and ugh - I can't imagine having them on in sweltering heat.

What do you all do? Thanks.

Well with time running out..
You could bring them incase (save money on having to purchase new ones)
OR..run to Walmart or similiar store and get the emergency ponchos that cost $1 and are much lighter then the yellow DIsney ones.
I would make a quick run and for a few bucks grab them. They are packed small and go into a fanny pack or backpack without much effort.
I just grabbed some of them for our trip in Sept because without fail it will rain every day.

Take the ponchos. Getting wet then going in any place air conditioned is not fun. Even after it stops raining when your clothes are wet with all that humidity they just don't dry.

BTW - I have twin dds 10 and a dd7. Have a great trip!

Bring your ponchos. Once it starts raining you will appreciate them. If you walk into a building with A/C and you are wet you will get cold.

It is the typical pattern of afternoon rains yet and it has been quite soggy lately.

I take our poncho's no matter what. Can't tell you how many times we've gone and had rain even when none was forecasted. Personally, I do think they are "stuffy" in the heat-- but even worse is being wet all day.

Pack the poncho and bring them to the parks. We just returned and it rained( poured) everyday for a least a hour or so between 4 and 5. The other night it started at 4 and did not let up till 8. We stayed dry ( we had our poncho's) but our shoes got very wet. Pack extra shoes!:p

Just got ponchos at Walmart (kids already had Disney ones) and the extra shoe idea is an excellent one! They were $.87 each and were in the sporting good section.

Have a great night.

When we went to Disney in July 2003 I decided to go to Epcot while my husband and kids went back to the pool. My husband told me to take my poncho and I said I'd be fine, you already know where this is going, of course the skies started to open up once I walked through the gates, so I figured I'd go on Spaceship Earth to ride it out. I got off the ride and it was still pouring so I went into Mousegears and spent time in there, finally I realized that unless I bought a poncho I was going to be spending the afternoon in there. So I bought the poncho and was able to walk around the World Showcase, without becoming soaking wet. Unfortunately I had to face the music when I met up with my husband at MGM an hour and a half later because of course it was still raining, I thought the "I told you so's" would never end. lol

I have been on the fence about whether not to take our ponchos on our Sept trip. But I'm diffently taking them now! In Jan we didn't use them at all but on the water rides which was nice we didn't have to be wet all day.

Generally, when we bring the ponchos it doesn't rain. When we don't bring the ponchos it pours! So now, in the summer, we always bring the ponchos!

We just got back last week and it rained EVERY day between 2 and 4 hours at a time. We ended up leaving MK about 1PM because of the rain and didn't return until 7PM when the rain quit. Pack the poncho's!! I also took a gallon size zip-lock bag to put them in once it was done raining - so it wouldn't get the other items in my bag wet.
