Being the naughty girl that I am... I rarely ask myself "should I" (;) ) but in this instance I think I owe it to DH....

Gotcha hooked right? Well...get those nasty thoughts out of your head..my story goes as follows:

DH has offered to go to Disney for our 25th wedding anniversary! As you can guess I am just thrilled. DH is not a Disney fan but he says he would enjoy being there with me (everybody...aaawwwwwwww).

But, here's where my guilt kicks in: I know we would have a great time..but should I look for something that he would enjoy as much as I would?

As of right now my plan is to price out a trip and then see where else we could go for that money and then decide.
Just to be clear...I know we'll have a great time no matter where we are..but would you want to celebrate an anniversary with your partner at a place you didn't love???

What does your husband like to do?

There must be somethnig in Central Florida that he would like.

He's a musician...does that help???
He's very easy going and laid back.

First off, congrats on 25 years!:cool1:

I completely understand where your guilt is coming from, BUT do you not go to Disney and run the risk of trying some place new and both of you hating it? :confused3 At least at Disney you know what you're getting and it doesn't have to be all about going to the parks.;)

On the other hand, a trip to Aruba might be nice....

I'm sure whatever you choose will be great. Good luck! :thumbsup2

Don't really have a suggestion but DEFINITELY wanted to say Congratulations! 25 years is fantastic!

Thanks for the Congratulations. I'm pretty proud of us too.
I called Disneyland reservations and the girl was so sweet on the phone..she gushed and was so enthusiastic..it reminds me once again why I love the place so much.

January prices don't get released until August..so I'll kick around a few more ideas...but tonight at dinner James said it'd be fun to see what it is I love so much about the Tower of Terror!!!!:lmao:

Ohmigosh -- I thought you meant Disneyworld -- not Disneyland. As I'm sure you already know, LA has a super music culture -- there should be tons of stuff a musician would be interested in.

Guilty art pleasure here -- I really like the Getty (ooops -- my black socks and sandals are showing again). Yeah -- some of their stuff has dubious provenance -- putting it mildly -- and it's pretty much Granny Gooch art but 1.) It's FREE 2.) It's very accessible -- no shrugging the shoulders and muttering "I don't get it" from anybody, and 3.) And the building and grounds themselves have an incredible feel.

In January, you'd also pretty much have the beaches to yourselves and I'd bet you'd have a better than 50% chance of seeing whales. (maybe not such a big deal for folks from Portland but I actually enjoy the SoCal beaches in the winter...)

BIG HONKIN CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

Does he like to Cruise? How about a couple of days in Disney and then you would have many choices to cruise from CA. Just a thought... A cruise could be lots of fun and relaxing!

Congrat's on 25 years! :thumbsup2

James said he would love a night of music. As for the Getty Museum..I want to see it...James already visited it when he drove with Tara to L.A.

I love the beach and so does James so that's a nice idea as well.

As for the cruise...I'd like to try that someday but neither James nor I are big drinkers and I think that's most of the fun on a cruise.:lmao:

Thanks everyone for pitching ideas. James has only been to Disney with small children and that has such a different feel than going solo as adults....I'm getting really excited about it and James says it's catchy!

Just to show what nerds we are and that we can have fun anywhere...we once went to Bellingham Washington for an anniversary. What's in Bellingham you ask?....Nothing! We went because Amtrak went there and it was cheap. We had a great time exploring the little downtown area and eating in the small cafes.

I also give a :thumbsup2 to the Getty museum! Some good art, the views from up there are great, a pretty good cafe with decent food and as always...

"If it's free it's for me!" :cool1:
