Should I wait to buy flights?

First off, thanks for suggesting Buffalo..we are going to do that.

Southwest times aren't working for us, at the moment for Sept...I have checked a company called airtran?

They have flights for around 89 us one way...is this a great deal?

Should I book now, or wait.

Thanks

I can't say if that is a great deal or not out of Buffalo ...we fly out of Detroit and from there it is thier regular rate. Sign up for their emails for deals...you have some time so I would wait and see for a bit longer IMO. However, Airtran is now one of the Magic Express preferred airlines if that is any incentive for you. (you don't have to worry about checking your luggage on the return because ME does that and I believe that you can check in for the flight right at the hotel. Please anyone who knows for sure correct me if I'm wrong.) I hope you catch a great deal!

Airtran (ATA) is now one of the preferred airlines. So you do get all the perks that the PP has mentioned. We've flown ATA and liked it. We had no problems.

As far as the price goes, you might want to grab it. I have been watching SW for the last week of August and I could have had $69 but DH has only agreed to flying if the tickets cost no more than the $500(4 tickets required) that he seems to think it will cost to drive. I think that he needs to be on some kind of medication because I'm sure it will cost more than $500 to drive.:rotfl2: Anyway, the $69 SW fares are now gone as are the second batch that they released at that price. I some how doubt that there will be a third round at that price. All that is left, IMO, is the possibility of a DING.

We booked with Southwest at $69 each way from Buffalo to Orlando, and six weeks before our trip this July, they released an internet special for $34 each way - what we love about Southwest is that if you change your flight, there is no penalty if you're still flying with them.
We flew Airtran last year on a non-stop coming back and they changed it a week before we came back to a connecting flight - when I called to complain, they said they're allowed to do it and I had no choice unless I re-booked and paid a penalty. Wasn't fun with 8 of us because our connecting flight was three hours late! We'll stick with Southwest - flying round-trip $122 each!!!:thumbsup2

Someone just posted last night on the DVC board that you can now pre select your seats with Air Trans:cool1:

You always could pre-select your seats but you had to buy a more expensive ticket. What they are now showing is the seat chart for the plane that shows what seats are still open. You can view this before you buy your tickets. However, you still can not pre-select your seats if you buy a web fare which are the cheap tickets ie:$69.

I stand corrected.

I just went on the ATA site and you can pre-select your seat even with the discounted and sale fares but you have to pay a $5-$15 fee per ticket.
