Should I Use Dreams Unlimited for my Upcoming Trip?

Hello Everyone!

I am contemplating using Dreams Unlimited for my upcoming trip to WDW. I have searched and read through old posts where the majority of people report great experiences with DU. This trip with be right after Thanksigiving into the first week of December of this year.

This is only my second trip to the World and the first trip we booked through AAA, I did not see any great benefit in using them, just did it because we are members. Has anyone had great luck with AAA as opposed to DU?

Also - in regards to having your DU TA book your ADRs - what is the success rate? I have a few restaurants I would like ADRs with during the trip - including CRT - I do not mind what day we get this during the trip as long as it is for breakfast and we can get an ADR before the MK opens for the day - is this virtually impossible? :scared1: And should I entrust this to the DU TA?

One last thing (I promise) - can anyone reccomend a DU TA that I should request? Can I request a certain TA with this being my first interaction with DU? My biggest concern is comparing prices for different hotels/packages (using PIN codes and not) and the ADRs.

Would appreciate any and all feedback!! Thanks a million!!! :goodvibes

I think especially on this board you are pretty much going to get a unanimous answer of "Yes."

We have used Dreams once and they were great. Our TA got all of our ADRs, but we were traveling during a low season and picked good restaurants, but not the most popular. I am sure they will do their best, but there is no guarantee of course. And obviously, you can always opt to do your own ADRs, you don't have to have them do it.

They will compare the use of pins, AAA discounts or any other package deals being offered, so you don't have to worry about that. They will figure out what the best option is for you and they keep up with new offers that come out if they apply to your trip. They can apply the AAA room discount as well.

We had Stacy and she was very nice, got back to us quickly with every questions and we were pleased with their service and happy to support Dreams since we love the podcast and the boards.

Good luck with your decision, I don't think you would regret it :)

Um, duh. :lmao:

They are wonderful and the conceirge services are amazing!

They will always get you the best rate, and adjust it if it gets better. :thumbsup2

These people really care about you and your vacation to Disney!

I think you should use them. They will cost you nothing, they can continue to check for discounts that come out after you book so you don't have to, and they will have at least as good a chance as you at getting the ADRs you want. Their job is to sit on the phone trying to get through for ADRs while you are probably busy at the job your do that has to pay for the trip.

If you are the kind of person that needs to be in control of everything, stays up on all the discounts so you can call yourself and adjust, and has the time to sit on the phone to get ADRs perhaps an agent isn't for you. That is something only you really know.

As for who to request, I'm not sure if they take requests but I think whom ever you get will be a good agent. I don't get the impression from Pete that he would keep around an agent that was not good at their job.

Thank you everyone!!! This is extremely helpful!

I knew that the answer would probably be yes :thumbsup2 - any specific TA suggestions?

I am kind of the 'planner' of our group who is going on the trip so they count on me to provide all of the answers - I was hoping DU could assist me with this. ;) I am content to communicate via e-mail (as opposed to in person or on the phone as we did previously) as well. I just have the pressure of a group of people hoping I can setup what they are asking for.

The boards are so incredibly helpful I would not be able to do it without all of you!!! :worship: Thanks again!!!

I wouldn't use anyone else. And YES they are GREAT about getting ADR's every time. I love Kelsey! I recommend her. You know - Ursala's Shadow on this board is a DU agent - you could ask for her!

I am DVC but I use them for my off property days (first day we get in we don't always go to our DVC home if it's a Saturday). Plus I recommend them to anyone planning a trip. It costs me nothing and they provide an excellent service. Penny:goodvibes

Also DVC owners now, but if we book a non-DVC trip - we use Dreams - and we recommend them to family who have already booked a trip through Dreams in July.

Dreams Unlimited - 3:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I actually just transferred my reservation to DU. I really used to enjoy the planning of my trips. I loved calling Disney to book adr's etc....because the cast members you spoke to on the phone seemed as excited about disney as I was. However this year....the cast members were not quite as magical, maybe even disinterested. So if figured, someone else can handle the rest of the details and hopefully DU is getting a commission. :thumbsup2

I transferred my reservation to DU as well I'm definitely a planner, but not great at numbers, and don't like sitting on hold with Disney all day. I've changed my resort um, a few times, for our upcoming trip, and Carole has been great (and patient) about sending me new quotes, and changing my booking.

I do my own ADRs, only because I can do them online quickly without bothering anyone.

My wife normally makes all the travel arrangements and calls for the deals, makes reservations, etc.

This past year we decided to treat ourselves to a short cruise. Due to health issues with our oldest son, our budget was very tight and so was our time/patience, but this was our 20th anniversary and we wanted to celebrate. We had "met" Rhonda, a DU TA who used to moderate the camping boards, and sent her a PM to inquire. Let me tell you that she made everything easy and was very quick to respond. We also got an incredible deal; paying for a category 12 guarantee room and got upgraded to a Category 9 room. I was hesitant to use a TA because this trip was going to be so inexpensive, but I think we got the same level of service and attention that we would have had if we had spent 5 times as much. They run a great service and we were impressed.

You will get a resounding yes on this board, no doubt about it!

I have used them for booking the Universal portion of my trip (not the Disney part because at the time the UK Disney website was giving me a better offer, I am not quite sure now if it was!)

I have Kathy W as my TA, and is lovely! Since we don't have much we can move around, she hasn't had to deal with that as of yet. But so far Dreams have been much easier to use than doing it on my own (the Universal website for booking hotels is dire!)

I would recommend them, and I know my mother has used them too and would say exactly the same thing!

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes.... They do an amazing job. Do not hestitate to use them.

Mark

I have used Dreams Unlimited about 7 Decembers in a row. I never had a problem. They have saved me money because I had been notified that the rate of my existing room only reservation was now lower. I'm sure you will be happy with them.

We have used them a bunch of times. Cathy Lord has booked all of our trips and we have been very pleased. I honestly believe anyone Dreams assigns you will be great.

I echo the resounding "yes" - and if you still want to make your own ADRs (I'm a micromanager myself) you can do that and just give the information to your DU agent to add to your itinerary.

Question on the same topic: I've already booked the majority of my trip through Disney BUT we need to add a day at the beginning of the trip which will turn it into a split-stay. Is it possible to transfer the whole mess to Dreams and have them book the one night stay? Would that be dumping on them or would they still get a commission? I'd love the help (my DH enjoys the trips but does not get involved in the planning) because it's getting complicated. But if they won't make any $$$ from it, I'll do it myself!

Thanks,
Amanda
