Should I update our ADR with our Anniversary Information

We basically scheduled our trip around when we could get ADRs because I wanted to take my DD to some character dinners. When I was making the ADRs the CM kept asking me if we had anything to celebrate. I was so focused on getting the reservations that I kept saying no. Well, after I thought about it, my DH and my anniversary is the week before we are heading down and my mom's birthday (she is coming with us) is also right before we head down. Should I call back and update our reservations with the birthday and/or anniversary info? Do they really do anything special? I personally don't want a lot of attention or anything but if it might get my DD some extra attention or souvenir it might be worth the wait to call back. What have been your experiences? Thanks!

YES! And make sure you wear your buttons. You'll get lots of congrats. from CMs and other guests. They make you feel really special!!!

Also, get your DM a birthday button to wear, too!!! :goodvibes

First, :welcome: to disboards

To answer your question, you really are not given anything to take home...At Chef Mickey special events people are given a cupcake and a placemat to take home...We went for a few birthdays and we also got a card at Tusker...But that was it as far as where we ate...If you are a doing a specific meal for the birthday or anniversary you can call back but you can also just mention it when you check-in...

If you get an anniversary button, a birthday button, and a first visit (if it is for your DD) you get some CMs that stop to say congrats or something like that...

The best things we get are cards from the characters at your resort....We always make sure to note the event on the resort reservation...We have 4 cards (all different pics of characters) that we signed and delivered to our room...For my dad, they sent a bowl of fruit to our room and twice we got balloons in our room with the cards.

Have a magical trip :wizard:

It was our anniversary when we ate at California Grill. We didn't ask for a window table but they gave us one and also brought us a piece of chocolate cake with Happy Anniversary on it.

Our 25th anniversary was noted on our ressies last year and we got a piece of cake, cupcake, certificate, signed card or something from all of the restaurants we went to with the exception of one.

Yes!!! They decorated our table with confetti and gave my husband & I a complimentary glass of champagne

Yes, tell them. It is the focus or theme for the year so I expect they may step things up a notch from previous reports...then again maybe not but it never hurts to try. I did the exact same thing, I'm planning months ahead and with every phone call they ask "are you celebrating anything" to which my every reply is "no" as like you I'm just so focused on the task at hand. Until I reach the ADR for Spirit of Aloha then I realize the date and it will be the evening prior to our anniversary. Anniversary-Shmanniversary. It has nothing to do with ANY aspect of our trip or the dinner show but hey if they'd like to make an announcement about it over the loud speaker go right ahead. I'll smile at DH and make him think I REALLY planned this one out. He'll feel like such a schmutz for not having anyting planned out...then he'll remember he is paying for us to be at WDW:rotfl:
