Should I take almost 1yo and almost 3yo to MNSSH?

So I was listening to DIS unplugged this morning and they were discussing MNSSH and how the rides are basically all walk-on during the party because people are mostly concentrated on getting candy and watching parades and fireworks.

It occurred to me that we could take a quick trip one of these weekends to take advantage of the walk-on rides. My kids are 2.8 yo and 10 months so not really into the whole Halloween thing yet.

We live in S. FL and can just drive up there. We have AP so if we got some FP for the late afternoon then rode the other rides in the evening we could pretty much cover all of them. After the rides we could catch a parade and stroll around some.

Does this sound like it is worth the extra expense of the party tickets? Or should I just scratch the whole idea and wait till my kids are older?

Edited to add that I've never been to one of these hard ticket events so I have absolutely zero experience in this area.

I would since both of your children are free at their ages. We took our daughter when she was two and she had a blast with the TOT, parade and fireworks. She did eventually fall asleep but that gave my husband and I some time to do what we had wanted to accomplish. It's really a good value to get the 4 of you in only paying for two tickets since your little ones are still super young.

Thanks for your input! I just checked and there are no friday or Saturday tickets left, but I will see if there's a Monday where both DH and I can take a vacation day. I'm so excited for the possibility of another Disney trip! :donald:

I agree..You all need to go it is pretty awesome, the parade, the fireworks, the smell of candy everywhere and seeing everyone all dressed up is worth it. There are only a limited amount of tickets and most lines move very quickly both candy and rides and take lots of pictures Magic kingdom will look beautiful.

Hi! I love the hard ticketed events at the Magic Kingdom. While I don't know your kids, I know mine! We didn't take them to MNSSHP until after they were 10! Why? Because they weren't going to make it past 8pm and I knew that they would be total crankpots the next day if I kept them out so late! You know your kids best and if you don't think you'll be punished by their crankiness I say go for it!
I also do want to issue a word of caution - I wouldn't say all rides and attractions are walk ons during a party. We did have a great night when we went to MNSSHP and experienced so many attractions between 4:30PM and 7pm! I just wanted to reset your expectation that it is a nice night and you will experience a lot of attractions but given you have APs - you can probably find another day to enjoy the Magic Kingdom with minimal lines without the extra expense!

There are plenty of MVMCP tickets left (including Fridays), and that party has the same benefits you seem to be interested in. Historically, hard-ticket parties such as these do not run on Saturday nights.

Just checked and every Friday still has tickets left. Where were you looking? The only week that doesn't have a Friday is the 30th since there is a sold out one on Halloween.

Just know your kids and give them a good nap late in the day. Our nephew was 2 when we took him and poor little guy crashed hard around 8 or 9. I don't think he even got to see the fireworks.
