Should I retry Via Napoli?

Thanks all for the wonderful responses! I think I’ll wait and retry it when I go back with my mom in January. She loves pizza, so maybe it’ll pay off.

My DH and I like to go here for a very light lunch. We share a personal size margarita pizza and then also split a salad. It’s just enough food and you don’t feel weighed down from a ton of pizza. If you decide to give it another try, maybe do the same so you can give it another shot, but not make a huge meal of it.

When you go back definitely stick with the "simple" pizzas like the margherita pizza because, to me, it sounds like you didn't like the toppings. If you liked the crust, then it is definitely worth going back for. Via Napoli is a family favorite and we have always had perfect pizzas there, it is just important to remember it's Naples-style pizza, not NY or Chicago-style. It's a light lunch with good drink choices, and I think every time we've done F&W since Via opened we have taken a break from the booths to sit in the air conditioned and share a pizza.

I've read many reports that people who get the large pizza are often disappointed because the pizza becomes too floppy (weighed down from the toppings, depending on what you get). I've only ever gotten the personal size, and its always been fantastic. Keep in mind I find the personal size HUGE. You can easily share it with your mom if you also get a salad on the side. The pizza is so good! :)

I'd say try it again and get the kind of pizza you actually want. They will do half and half, even on an individual pizza

LOVE Via Napoli!! We always get the house salad and margarita pizza! Fairly light as pizza goes. And for goodness sakes, don't let the bf order for you!!!

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.....

NO.

Instead? Consider the BOAT at the IG, travel to the most EXCELLENT Italian Restaurant on property....
Il Mulino - Swan Hotel.

TIW accepted, no DDP....

I ate at Via Napoli for the first time just a few weeks after eating pizza in Naples, Italy. I was hesitant at first, but the pizza tasted like I was right back in the real Napoli. It quickly became one of my favorites after that. Haven't had a bad meal there yet. If you're looking for non-pizza Italian, there are better places, but their pizza is my favorite!

Very inconsistent. I've had good pizza there, and I've had not good pizza there.

They could take lessons from Naples, their sister restaurant at Disneyland. We had pizza there two months ago, and it was far better than even the best I've had at VN.

There will be so many other things to choose from that if I did not enjoy a restaurant the first time, I'd pass on this visit.

I see that the opinions are all over the place. I didn't especially like their pizza, and I have no interest in going there again. Plenty of other good restaurants in Epcot.

I completely agree with this. We love Naples, we make it a point to eat there every time we are in DL, even though there are so many other good food choices there, because the pizza has always been fantastic.

We have been to VN twice, and both of those times we have gotten poor pizza that was NOTHING like Naples pizza. The first time our pizza was a wet and soggy mess. It was just after they opened, and we got pepperoni and mushrooms, so I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were still working out the oven temps, and were maybe using very wet mushrooms and not cooking them down first. We went back two weeks ago and got a pepperoni pizza and it was pretty terrible. The top looked under baked with little to no color, and the bottom was completely black and burned, it wasn't that slightly charred deliciousness that I love, the whole bottom was black and burned. We both agreed that we will not be doing VN again, pizza at Disney, for us, will be an exclusively DL thing.

We've eaten there twice and each time were disappointed so I would not recommend Via Napoli to anyone. We thought it was loud, slow service and the pizza very unimpressive.

I would give it another try but not during food and wine. I have eaten there three times. The first couple times I had individual pizzas, and they were very good. I agree that sometimes the large ones can be soggy in the middle from watching others struggle with it. The third time I had a pasta dish, lasagne I think, and it was very good as well. My fave though is the zeppoli- I would make a reservation just for that!

Maybe I’ll go to Blaze for a late pizza! Although I don’t know if three hours is enough time for Homecomin’ to wear off.

As for Epcot, I’ll stick with the booths. My one dinner at Epcot is at Le Cellier for the first time!
Yes
I would certainly go to Via Napoli over Blaze Pizza 3 hours after Homecomin
