dreamflight99 said:Ditto. swea_pea1 wrote how this is a "self-fulfilling prophecy alert" (like a valid EPIPHANY!). Too bad there is not a candy factory near you (like in that LUCY episode) where you could just sit and do "line work" which requires little/no skills and no attitude, (negative or other), etc. Maybe a long-haul trucker, or even short haul? You are not required to have any social skills for these jobs, and/or be around people. Something is out there for you...somewhere.![]()
Have you ever contemplated work at the DMV or POST OFFICE? Seems like you would be perfect for these jobs! But then again...there is a bit of "counting" required at both. Hmmm. (sorry...couldn't resist).

Typical arrogance. Most the people at our Post Office are veterans, and very friendly veterans at that. You have to take a test to work at the Post Office and are given extra points for being a veteran or the wife or widow of a veteran. My aunt has been a substitute letter carrier for many years, and she's a very nice person.
As for the DMV, in rural areas, those jobs are hard to come by. These days, any jobs with full benefits, especially government jobs, are hard to come by.
As for the candy line, a college friend worked a summer job on the Kraft caramel line. She had the best time and would often say how much she loved those candy ladies she worked with. DF, did you have a bad experience in the candy factory?
And the long haul trucker who lives down the road from me makes over 100k a year. He's a specialty mover, but long haul trucking isn't a skillless job, and probably not a great match for a young mother.
In short, just because a job seems like a low skill desk or factory job, DF, doesn't mean that the people who work there are like TOV.
