We just moved to North Caarolina from Ohio and we are anxious to see HH DVC. We have a weekend in January that we could go. Does anyone recommend January? Will there be things for the kids to do...ages 8,6,and 4? Is it so seasonal that they don't do the activities then? The points are so much less in Dec and Jan. Any input is appreciated! Thanks.

The activities at the HH are resort are ongoing. The real difference between Dec/Jan and other times is the weather. It is usually too cool (temps in the 50's) for all but the hardiest to enjoy many of the water related activities (canoeing, kayaking, sailing, dolphin cruise, etc.)

There is still an active children's program, plus a selection of adult and family activities planned at the resort. The island offers many dining and shopping options- although some are closed during this time of year.

Enjoy the low point cost - Hilton Head has much to offer- year around!

II has a 1 Br for $599 and a 2 BR for $689 for the week starting 5 Jan. A good deal compared to using points but still about twice what you can get Marriott's Barony or Grande Ocean which are both oceanfront. Other dates are showing up for Jan and Feb as well to include studios ($539), 1 BR and 2 BR units. The prices are constant.

We will be going to HH (just added on there) for the first time in January, Thought it would be a nice get away, and an opportunity to explore the resort without a lot of competition. In my opinion, any time is a good time to go if your in a relaxing environment with the ones you love. We will be driving from IL and plan on playing a lot of chutes and ladders, letting the kids jump on the beds, going for walks, braving the pools, doing some siteseeing and of course taking lots of baths.

Could be -20 at home.

Go and have silly fun!!:p :D :p
