Should I give Le Cellier another shot???

We went there in 2004 and did not really enjoy it at all. The wait was an hour (we had an ADR and had two toddlers who were starving, it got ugly). The food, honestly, was subpar. I had some kind of noodle dish that tasted like a lo mein but wasn't really described as such - was so-so. The service was not good. I always see such raves that I feel like I missed out on something great - should I give it another go or is it always that crazy busy and the food really not as good as people say?

P.S. we had something similar in our recent trip with O'hana, I heard awesome things but our service was horrendous (never got offered seconds of anything while forgetting us for over a half hour before dessert, and yes, we were there with our 3 little ones - it got ugly again!!!).

Honestly, we LOVE Le Cellier! I haven't really had a bad experience in there, although the last time I went to eat there I didn't have toddlers with me. I have since had kids, so it has been awhile since I have eaten there. I hope you have a better experience this next time.

We love it there. We have three little ones, so I know what you mean about long waits before and during a meal.
My rule of thumb is to never rule a place out until I have had two bad experiences. You never know if it was just a fluke.
We are heading down on 10/11 for a week, we are actually going to Le Cellier and Ohana. I hope we have better luck then you at both! I am not worried about the 6 yo, but the 4 yo and 22mo old old don't have so much tolerence.

For us Ohana use to be a must do but in recent years we could say your rule applies. It is out now. While LeCellier serves OK food (only 1TS Steakhouse Restaurant on DP) ..for us it is a subpar experience (better Steak places on property) with slow service (opening ADR too).

I say try again, for sure! My only complaint wasnt even their fault~ They couldnt accommodate us for 5, when or ADR was for 4 :confused3

Food and service were excellent:love: but if not mistaken, this was one of the 2 places with an itty bitty tiny ladies room? ((LTT was the other, I think)) This was last summer, BTW~

PS~ I also went to Ohana (for the most special meal of the trip~ it was my best friends' (for over 20 years)birthday) I left there so frustrated, I was absolutely teary! We specifically asked not to be rushed, but salad, hot apps and side dishes all arrived w/in 10 min of each other, I couldnt enjoy anything, and the meats were barely warm and dry as well. Once we caught a bus back to ASMO and I calmed down, I got a much more enjoyable meal from the food court
:sad2:

I'm going against the pp's. I can't understand the rave reviews Le Cellier gets. To me it's ok, just that ok and that's after dining there 3 times. There's so many restaurants why got back to one you didn't care for?

I sure wouldn't go there for noodles. If you don't care for steak and some of their other specialties, I would skip it. Personally, we love Le Cellier and have had several good experiences there and only one not-so-great time.

We ate at Le Cellier for the 1st time about 10 days ago. I'm not a picky person and it doesn't take much to satisfy me, but I was not impressed with Le Cellier. My steak was way overcooked and the overall meal was average at best. IMO, the best part about Le Cellier was the different breads. I didn't care for the atmosphere of the restaurant either. The service was very good - so no complaints there. In comparison, the steak I had at Coral Reef completely blew Le Cellier away. It was cooked to perfection & was about twice as thick. Don't get me wrong, Le Cellier was not a "bad meal" or an awful experience, but I would be rather ambivalent about eating there again & would probably want to try something else instead.

I went to Le Cellier for the first time on Sunday. I'm not much of a red meat eater, so I can't talk about the steaks. I did get the chicken and it was delicious, I could taste the seasoning throughout the whole chicken and not just on the outside of it. The potatoes were delicious and the bread was great. My desert was awesome (S'mores)! Our service was easily the best of the 4 table services we ate at.

I didn't care too much for their Chedder Soup, however, it was way too salty. My mom said the pork tenderloin was the best meal she'd had in a long time. My brother got the ribs and he really enjoyed those too.

We give every restaurant 3 chances before making a decision and Le Cellier has had their 3 chances. We will not be returning any time soon. Although our service has been fine (2 of 3 times we did wait a long time past our ADR to be seated but I can live with that too), the food was certainly not up to the hype for us.

Absolutely, give it another shot!

I loved my appetizer last time but hated the entree. the shrimp pasta was waaaaay too salty & spiced (gag). This time however, I'm going to try the mushroom filet...it looks beautiful!(hope it tastes that way too;) )

We are very big LeCellier fans. We honestly have never had a bad or a so so meal there. We are very big steak eaters and they have all been delicious. Love that pretzel bread too. I would give it one more try. As a matter of fact, we are going to do that same thing ourselves. We were not that happy with our last meal at Yachtsman's Steakhouse, but we are going to try it again. With reading so many good things about it, we figure, maybe they just had a bad night or maybe there was something going on with our taste buds that night.

I would definitley try it again. a 4 year hiatus is long enough to give them another chance :) We tried it for the first time in May and actually really enjoyed it! Good luck!

We went there in 2004 and did not really enjoy it at all.

With so many other options and such a horrible experience before I'm not sure I would ... I know we will never give Coral Reef a second chance after a bad experience there.

I love Le Cellier and will keep going back but that is my opinion. The only thing I am not happy about is how some parents let their kids run around in the place. So what do I do make a reservation for later.

If you don't want to go back then don't - that includes other restuarants. I don't know how many times I have heard someone say they are only eating there because others have told them to. I say if you have tried a place once or even twice and you really are not sure if you want to go back then don't. There are plenty of other places to eat and I don't think anyone has eaten at every one of them. Trust me I have tried Flame Tree BBQ twice and won't go back. The same goes with Crystal Palace (even though I have not eaten there and I do, I can not stand the winnie the pooh characters - so I don't go).

I would. When we dined at Le Cellier for the first time a few years ago, we did not really care for it. However, we skipped it for 2 years, then decided to give it another try. I'm glad we did, because it was terrific that time around, and we have been returning ever since, and have had wonderful dinners. So, it never hurts to give something another try, hopefully it will turn out much better!

Do not waste your time at Le Cellier. It used to be our fav. restaurant and the last two times we were there we were very disappointed. We decided to not waste our time there next time and try another. Do not believe the hype!!!

We had a fabulous lunch at Le Ceiller this past May. We enjoyed it so much we are having dinner there next month.:goodvibes I had the mushroom filet, and it was so tender I could cut it with my fork. Yummy!:thumbsup2

We love Le Cellier minus the kids. My dh and I go when we don't have the kids with us. There are plenty of places you'll enjoy more as a family. I'd head for one of those or try something new. I also wouldn't order noodles at Le Cellier. The beer cheese soup is a must, though.
