Should I feel bad? Or be mad!

For the punishment of just taking the power cord, it may not work.

In college my power cord broke with my paper on the computer that I needed to turn in the next day. I had a dell and at the time you could NOT get that power cord anywhere but from them and there was no way itwould be in the mail in time.

No problem though all it took was a friend with a computer with the same type of power cord. If she had a less uncommon type of cord and could just go to best buy and buy a universal charger (that works in all the laptops that have round plugs instead of dells funky ones) she would have her computer back for a few bucks.

Unless your daughter isn't allowed in your room AT ALL, it's your fault it's broken.

Her, you, or someone else could have sat on that end of the end for any number of reasons and broke the screen.

Snooping around in your room is a big problem to me. I would be mad
Hiding it under the mattress is a big mistake. I would feel bad

Split the cost of either fixing it or buying a new one

I think under the mattress was a crazy place to put a fragile piece of electronics.

Still, I think that if my child went looking for an item that had been taken away, and broke it in the process, I would not be replacing it.
