Should i do online check in? Does is override previous requests made through MS

I have a BWV stay coming up in April (my first official stay as a DVC owner!!). This is for a conference at S & D so i did a chat w/ MS awhile ago to put in a request for a room closest to S & D.

Should i or should i not do online check in when that window opens?
Does it provide any real benefit?
If i do it does it mess up my request that i made to MS?

You can do online checkin. Just don't enter anything in the requests section.

Yes and yes to both questions in the topic. I like being able to go direct to the room by doing online check in but I always skip the request area because we make them with member services. The requests with online check-in are usually more appropriate for Disney Hotel guests versus DVC Resorts anyway.

When you leave the request area blank, do you still provide your arrival time? And do you still check the box of whether you prefer early checkin or your request?

NO. Early checkin negates all your requests.
Leave the request area blank, enter your arrival time and credit card info.

Warning - last trip I called in my requests (twice) and when I got to OKW they had all been missed off the reservation. Far from happy, OKW apologised and I got some compensation I was very happy with (great customer service). However lost all trust in calling in and will probably only do requests online now on the theory it's electronic and will definitely be on the reservation.

I never do online checkin. I have been lucky with my room request so far ,and don't want to mess my system of going to the front desk to start the magic. Although I always arrive early by 11am. Room usually ready by 1ish.
My upcoming Aulani stay I will not be arriving till 3ish. So hopefully I still get lucky. Not sure Aulani even does online checkin anyway?
