Please help me decide if I should do DLX or DDP. ME, DH, DD 17 (exchange student from Sweden), DS 7, DD 4. My kids do great in restaurants...we eat out a lot.

7 nights and so far I have booked.

Crystal Palace Dinner (arrival day)

Mama Melrose early lunch
Flying Fish late dinner

Boma breakfast
Wolfgank Puck dinner

Whispering Canyon breakast
HDD Review

Ohana's Breakfast
Narcosses Dinner

The Wave early lunch
park 1900 late Dinner

We don't live to eat but we hate the counter service fried food and burgers, etc. We usually do the dining plan but didn't do any signature.

Any advice...I don't want to have a ton of left over credits and is it even worth it versus still eating everywhere listed and paying out of pocket?

Thanks!!

With the meals you have planned you are at 14 TS credits. With DxDDP you would have 7 more credits to use for lunch/breakfast during the week plus the snacks. Regular DDP doesn't look like it would work for you because you would only get 7 TS credits and 7 CS credits.

Look at the menus, see what you would order and how much each meal will be (approx) and then compare that to the cost of the DxDDP. One other option is if you have an AP you could get the DDE ($60) and use that for 20% off of the meals you have planned.

I would pick the deuxe, since the basic will not come close to covering for you, with the deluxe it should all be covered.

It looks like you only have 5 days planned so far, with 14 credits used already.

If you go with the deluxe you will have a total of 21 credits per person.. so you still have 7 credits to use, which you could use most of them with no problems on the days you still haven't planned.

The regular dining plan doesn't look like it will work for you.

With the deluxe you will also get 14 snack credits per person for the 7 nights and the refillable beverage mug for use at your resort.

I would probably lean toward using the deluxe in your situaition.

Hope you have a great trip whatever you decide!:wizard:

I agree with the PP that the Deluxe Plan would work for you. We love to eat at Disney, and this year we're doing the Deluxe. We were sharing meals on the DDP before, and that was not fun. We did it to make the meal credits stretch, but really the Deluxe Plan was what we were waiting for! Yay!

Then, you can use those extra credits for breakfasts or if someone is hungry they can grab a CS meal & not worry about OOP costs. :wizard: That is the best part for us--having it paid up front so there aren't huge bills in the end.

I think you'll find that your OOP costs on top of the regular DDP would be much more than upgrading to the Deluxe.

Enjoy!:goodvibes

Thanks for the input everyone! I think I am going to stick with the deluxe dining plan. I just added CRT for dinner that last night. I know the food is not the greatest by I think DD4 will love eating in the castle. That should eat up about 17 credits.

Wow....this is going to be a lot of eating! I am going to have to spend some more time on the treadmill!!

Just think about how much walking you do at Disney...that's my excuse for eating so much and never passing up a glass of wine with dinner!:rolleyes1
