Hello everone. I hope you Dis veterans can give me some good advice. I am working through the numbers on the Disney website and am torn about what to do. :confused3

Ok . . . We are going 2.2-2.9. We can get a room at WL (courtyard) w/ dining for $3,134. I would also like to stay at BC but they do not have a room for our entire stay. So . . . we could split the stay between Pop and WL for $2,910 or Pop and BC for $3,000. (I'm assuming that these prices are before tax).

We stayed at Pop before but we really wanted to stay at a deluxe this time and be closer to the action. So, what would you do??? Any advice???

TIA

Hi Tia:

We enjoyed our split stay in 2004 (POP/BC)... enough so that we are doing it again this Nov/Dec at AKL and WL.

As others will tell you... do the Value or Moderate resort prior to the Deluxe... so you don't feel that you are stepping down... rather you will be stepping up... If you plan on having a down day that is the prefect day to switch... i.e. day 3 or 4... Plan your days at the parks based on where you are staying.

If you plan on hitting the park still on the day you switch then switch early in the morning. I would suggest around 7:00AM to avoid long checkout / check in lines... Your room may or may not be ready but they will store your luggage. Personally we used a cab to switch and will do so again this trip. You can have you luggage transferred for you but I prefer to keep it in my hands and move it using the cab.

Enjoy your stay.

I think this would be a fun way to get to do the 2 resorts you really want. We have never although we've done WDW/Cruise before and loved that. I think it's very do able. And I'm sure your kids would love it! Hope you have a wonderful trip! :)

As long as you are planning to spend at least 3 days at each resort I don't think that a split stay is a problem. I prefer to stay in one place the whole time, but I always end up with a split stay, LOL.

Spilt stays are fine, but in the eyes of Disney their two separte stays. Just ensure you understand the impact this has on packages, tickets and dining plans, so you are not surprised. We agree with " robinb " with the minimum stay since one day is check-in and another check-out.

We have done two split stays. Two years ago in Nov. we stayed at SOG first and then moved to CSR for our last 3 nights. It is kind of a pain to pack up and move and it does take hours off of day if you are planning on going to a park. In Aug. we split between SSR and BWV. Well.....we knew that would be a NON PARK day so we went to DTD from SSR and then just hung out at BW that afternoon/night. We have decided that it was neat to stay at two nice resorts, but we would prefer to stay at one place....and just stay at a different place on each trip. We loved SSR so much that we are staying all 8 nights there in mid Nov. In Jan. we don't want to use our points so we are getting two rooms at POFQ with our great AP rates.

When we did split stays - I hated the packing up, moving it all, putting it all out again, getting settled again routine. It's just easier IMO to stay in one spot.
