Hi all, me and my son will be visiting IOA for the first time ever on June 16th. We're over for 2 weeks and have a 5 day pass, so we will be back.

I have booked a 9am breakfast at Confisco Grille as my son is a spiderman nut! However, I was thinking that, since we are going to be have to be there for park opening, would it not be better to use this time to try out the spiderman and hulk rides? Not to mention the fact that these things are always best done on an empty stomach ;) So, should I go for a later time? The park will be busy that day also I reckon, so yet another reason to grab a couple of rides before it fills up.

Also, can anyone tell me if there are any other character meals that you can do at UO?

Thanks :)

I would make it for later... ride as much as you can b4 the breakfast. No I do not think there is any other ch breakfast except for spidy

Can you book earlier? We had the first seating at this meal in the past and it was a huge highlight of our trip. Are you staying onsite? If so I wouldn't worry too much about getting in super early. In my experiance the Universal crowd tend to get to the parks much later that the disney crowds. The breakfast is pretty small and you should be able to get in and out quickly also if you choose. Just some thoughts to help make up your mind! :thumbsup2

Who did you call to book the meal? When I made my reservations for the last week of June the lady told me it wasn t necessary to book early.I have a grandson looking forward to breakfast with Spidey and do not want to disapoint.

The lady did seem a bit apprehensive about booking it, but she did and took my CC details for it. This was booked at the start of last month.

allearsnet.com has the number 407-224-4012 for reservations. Thanks for your help, im gonna phone them and see if I can change it :)

we did the 7:30 seating and only one other family was there with us. the food was average, but the character interactions were great!

lots of spidey time and thing 1 & 2 also.
do the early seating if you love spidey and then you can get a head start on the rides when the park opens.

pick up the park guide map when you enter the park. check and see what the Character Zones times are listed for spiderman.
he will appear with the super heroes "parade/atv entrance" many times in the day. also catch spidey at the Marvel Alterniverse Store for pictures.

number from the dining section of ioa from uo website:

looks like they no longer have the early breakfast available.
first seating at 9.

I just booked the breakfast for the last week of June and the lady told me it was a good idea to book in advance but if I needed to cancel give 48 hours notice or my card would be charged. She said 9am was the first seating.

Did you get a confirmation number? Last time I booked my confirm number was "john", the guys name was John and that was my confirmation number!!

that sounds correct.
you usually get the person's name when you make a ressie.

it's a different system than what you are used to at disney.

Actually she used my first name as the confirm, she said to just tell them my first name and they would take it from there.

micksterlee........:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

when i did a ressie there, they told me the name of jim and none of us have that name.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope she knew what she was talkin about. Somethin tells me with 6 of us standin there at 9am and I wave my credit card in the air they will find my reservation.120.00 for breakfast whooooo but hey you don t get many chances to have a meal with Spidey now do ya.

we went a couple of years ago and it was AWESOME!!! the highlight of my sons week!! we are going to go again this summer (he doesn't know) and I can't wait! you get A LOT of one on one time with SPiderman. It is awesome and a great price. can't beat it.

We did a late seating at this meal last time and it worked out great. I want to say it was for 9:30 or 10 and the place was empty! We had Cat in the Hat, Things 1 and 2 and Spiderman all to ourselves. They each spent a great deal of time with us and Spiderman sat with us for a while talking to the kids.
As a bonus the food was good too :thumbsup2

Woohoo! Thanks for the info folks :thumbsup2

Well, I ended up having to make changes to my plan. We are going to do IOA on our first full day, and swapped it with MGM, as both were listed as 'busy days' in my guide for the dates originally planned. I phoned up Universal, got my reservation changed no problem, and was given the reservation ID of 'Charles' (the guy explained that was his name ;) ) Oh, and I switched it to 10am, so we can get a quick look at the park, and maybe a ride of Spidey and Hulk before we gorge ourselves :goodvibes
