because there are some post that say they may have not gotten the best service because of this. I would hate to be treated like less of a person because i choose to pay for my meals in advance. Why have the attitude if your company thought of the idea why not voice your grievances with WDW not the customers. What have been your experience with the dining plan?? I really think it is a good deal i mean the tip is included is that what they are worried about?? :sad2:

HELP :confused3 :confused3

When I was at WDW in September with my DD and her family, we used the dining plan. We never received less service, rude comments from CMS etc because we used the dining plan. Most of the CMS were very helpful about explaining the Plan to use. I go to WDW for two weeks every fall and did not notice a difference in the attitude of the CMS at the restaurants. HTH

There were more people eating table service, which I am sure was because of the Plan and I think that ADRs are more important now.

It was great having dining prepaid and very convenient. I will be doing the Plan again this year.

Don't cancel! We had the free dining plan last year and we had wonderful service! We have booked it again for our upcoming trip. :cool1:

We had two issues with the dining plan neither relating to service. We had far too much food per meal. We never order appetizer, entree and dessert. Maybe 2 out of 3 but we did waste some food. This was a particular issue with our barely eating 8 yr old.

The other issue we had was we like TS and had many CS credits that were hard to use. We ended up getting breakfasts at the end of the week that we wouldn't have done otherwise. We did not use all of our snack credits either.

We were on the Dining Plan in October and we had consistently excellent service. We actually left an extra tip, above the included tip at each TS meal. This topic keeps coming up, and personally I think it is unfounded. JMHO.

We had the dining plan on our last trip and the service was excellent. The one and only issue I can think of was feeling a little rushed at a breakfast buffet - we had a late ADR and they were getting ready to make the switch to lunch - and I can't chalk that up to being on the DP. We did have a few servers who were so friendly and helpful that I'd easily rate them higher than many I've encountered at upscale nonWDW restaurants where the tip wasn't guaranteed......

No by all means do not cancel your dining plan. We had great service our whole trip with exception of sci fi and i paid oop for this meal. service sucked, food sucked but only at sci fi. the only complaint and not really a complaint would be too much food but not at all places. We resolved this problem by not getting apps or desserts or sharing. the dining plan is a great deal. will never do disney agin without it.

I completely agree with other posts -- don't cancel. It is worth it. We received great service from most except Sci-Fi (don't know if it had to do with the fact that tip was included or that the CM just wasn't motivated to do much of anything -- may have just not had a good day, who knows). The benefits absolutely outweigh any disadvantages!

Maybe those people ran into bad service and attributed it to the DP. The first I heard of the dining plan was from a CM at Pop Century. (We're DVC and AP so never paid much attention to posts about it.) The times I have used AP or DVC discounts, I've never experienced any decrease in service or attitude because of that. The servers usually don't know until the bill is presented anyway. If anything, I've received assistance from them to use the best discount!

The dining plan is AWESOME!!! It saved us a lot of money, we tried new foods that we normally wouldn't have, and the service was fine. It really felt like a vacation when we could splurge and order anything we wanted.

I wouldn't cancel. My daughter(7) and I went in December and had the dining plan. I will agree that we had a lot more food than we could eat, and at the end of the week I had CS and snacks left over. But, that was useful too.......I used them to buy and sandwich and snack for the plane ride home. I don't think I would have gone to as many table service restaurants without it.

Stick with the DP!! It is definitely worth the money. We had it in Nov. and had excellent service everywhere we went. I can't wait to try it again. :)

We had the dining plan in October also, and LOVED it. The only difference we noticed in service was that the servers tended to suggest the more expnsive items. We were, however, more than happy to try them! :) We left extra tips on three occasions for truly excellent service, at Kona, Prime Time, and WCC.

I wouldn't cancel the DP. Under the old ticketing system, we purchased the silver plan which included meals. We never had a problem with the service, we actually had servers advise us that we weren't taking full advantage of the appetizers, main course, dessert for each diner. This year we'll be using the premium plan because we prefer TS meals and we'll also be taking advantage of some of the other perks. It's great having ADRs & meals pre paid. It really makes for a fun, less stressful vacation!

Does anyone think (or know) if they will offer the free dining again this year. That was great last year. Not really planning a trip for this yr. but I think I could talk DH into it if this was offered.
Thanks, for all the great help :teacher:

We went during the free dining,I already had the trip planned and did not go with the dining plan because i wasn't sure where we would want to eat and what I would spend. Then when I found out they added the free dining I called and added to my package.I would get the dining again ,it was great.Being able to eat at places I usually thought were to expensive was great. We were always treated nice at ts meals.Only one nastly lady at pop century food court at the beginning of our 10 days she was angry I did not understand what I got with my cs meal. But we keep track of our costs and it is worth it to me,even if we would have paid for the plan.

For those of you who did the dining plan and used the CS for breakfast, where did you go? What did you eat? Thanks.

Just got back 2 days ago and used the dining plan...LOVED IT! We had really great service at all the restraunts and it was fun to sit down and eat at the nice TS restraunts and not just CS all day! :thumbsup2 Also loved that we never had to think about the money! I say GO FO IT! :teeth:

just used once for breakfast and ate at 1900 park fare was great

I thought 1900 Park Fare was a table service and not a counter service. Did you use your counter service for 1900?
