Should I book Now?

Hey everyone,

Ok I am 100% sure that me and my dd are going to WDW this coming year but it will probably be during Spring Break b/c I have a 13 year old and she can't miss that much school now!!

My question is when should I book the room/package? Should I hold onto my money and book after Christmas? What is the benefit of doing it so early besides the obvious of securing your hotel and not spending the money elsewhere as if I would ever spend Disney money on anything else :lmao:

I'm just so excited I want to actually say I have booked so it's more real even though I have a good amount of money already set aside

Im not going till may 2007 and i booked the day the 2007 packages came out! haha basicly because (for reasons like you said) it keeps me from spending the money anywhere else and it makes it more real!! Im already getting things in the mail welcoming me and giving me ideas for my trip! Also if you log on to disneyworld.com you can make payments on your trip which is also good! haha i say go ahead and book it now...i see no reason to wait if your 100% sure your going! :goodvibes

Hahahaha you sound just like me Cheryl chomping at the bit to make it real :teeth: What kind of payments can you make on the Disney site? I've never booked online before b/c I usually call Disney directly to book. Can't you make the same payments that way?

All I know for sure is I can't wait to go!!!!

I second the other poster about making your reservations now. We went for Spring Break last year. It can get hard to get the room category you want sometimes (especially if you are trying for a AAA rate or later an AP rate). The hotels were all booked up last year, but I felt safer knowing we had our reservations made for what we wanted.

If you book room only instead of a package, you need to give them one night's fee as a deposit, but then you dont have to pay anything more until you actually check in to the hotel. Also, it's more flexible for changes, cancellations, etc.

If you want a package, I would still say book before January -- by then it'll be harder to get your hotel reservations (plus, believe it or not, even dining reservations were hard to come by by then!)

This is my first time booking through the website so i dont have any idea about the payments. all i know is you can do them. :rotfl: haha oh well at least everything is booked and i can start thinking how i'm going to pay for this trip. lol anyway let us know what you decided when you book your trip!!! :teeth:

It's never too early to book it. As soon as I know exactly when I want to go, I get it booked to make sure I get what I want. I say - go for it! :thumbsup2

It's good for my mental health to always have a Disney vacation booked. My husband says I'm much nicer when I have a "real" trip to look forward to. :goodvibes

I couldn't agree with you more!!!! That is exactly what I always say!!!! and that is what my husband always says about me!

Wow I'm cracking up at my desk over here and my co-workers just know I've lost it anyway :lmao: so I think I'm going to book room only for now and I can always add the tickets later if I want but my job just gave us a corporate discount and I checked the discount against WDW, Ticketmania, Maple Leaf & Discount Orlando prices and ours beats them by about $50.00 per tix so I should go that route instead and gasp don't think I'm crazy but I don't think the dining package is for us!!! It's not that I don't love to eat b/c trust me my next mission is to lose 40 lbs before I go LOL but me and my dd won't eat all that food at the TS meals or even perhaps the counter and I usually budget $80.00 a day for food anyway so I think it works out the same. What do you all think about that?
