My flight home from Orlando was changed from a non-stop to one with a layover. Not a big deal, but for some reason they cannot give me a seat assignment for the second flight. I have been told to get my assignment at the gate. Should I be at all concerned? Do I have to wait until then, or is there some way to get my assignment on-line?
No, seriously - Detailor could easily be right, your connecting flight could be on a codeshare partner. Whether it is or not, all this probably means is, the preassignable seats have already been, well, assigned. You could try calling again 24 hours before THAT flight is scheduled to depart; sometimes airlines open up the 'held' seats then. Worst case, yes, you'll get your seat assignment at the gate.
