Should I bank the points right away?

Advice needed from more experienced DVC owners (which is everyone but me) DH and I have August use year contracts. We booked BWV for the third week in June and have 102 points left. No other trips planned before August. Is it best to bank them right away or wait until closer to Jan 31st to bank?

I'd bank them but I don't think it matters much. You have until January 31 to bank 100% of your points, April 30 for 50% and May 31 for 25%. What percentage will the 102 points be?

But if you don't have any trips planned you might as well bank them as soon as possible. That way if you do book a trip for your next use year, you can use those points first and if you change your mind and do a last mninute trip this use year, you could always borrow some from next year.

I think HBC gave you good advice.

It really doesn't make any difference when you bank, as long as you don't miss the applicable deadline. But we've all seen the anguished posts here saying, "OMG...I FORGOT to bank my points! HELP!!!" If you're pretty sure you're not taking another trip this UY, I'd bank them and go find something else to worry about.
