Should I avoid the EMH days?

We are going to WDW the last week of Aug. I'm trying to avoid crowds as much as possible, and I've heard that EMH days are more crowded. Is this true? We're not staying on site so its not for us anyway.

If you are not staying on site, then you should avoid the EMH park as you would not benefit from going anyway. If you cannot get in once they open, you will be in crowds. We stay on-site and will get to EMH at park opening, but after leaving for our midday break we return to a different park as the EMH park does tend to draw crowds.

I have heard a good strategy to use would be to go to whichever park had evening EMH the night before.

Carefully review the parks schedule so you will know which parks have EMH each day so you can avoid them. Not every park will have EMH on the same day.

Browse the "Theme Park Attractions and Strategies" board. There are posts on this subject nearly every day it seems. You won't even have to ask the questions, just browse through a few days, you find many responses to the same question.

We tend to avoid them because they are so much more crowded . If we do choose a park with EMH we usually pick the days when the park stays open later because it just seems to work better then when it opens early .

We just went to WDW for President's week, we avoided parks that were having EMH totally. We felt like the parks were not as crowded as when we went in August and went to EMH routinely. We were pretty thrilled, as we know how crowded President's week is! We will avoid extra magic hour parks on our next trip (unless it is for fireworks or dinner or something!)
