This seems like a way to control the surges of people redeeming their FPs and causing very long FP lines. I can't see any guest benefit here.
Or, they may be counting on guests booking their FPs one hour apart when they select them. It allows the extra travel time for those who need it but allows for shorter windows and less wait between rides for others.Interesting. In a way, it is nice because of less waits between rides. But I have already had a few situations where the hour window saved me. Maybe they will offer a longer grace period than the current 15 minutes after?
Maybe there are shorter windows for less busy times of the day. Late at night they can offer more slots with shorter windows based on lower crowd level.
It will be interesting to see what happens on Sunday with all the changes to the app.
This is a bit off topic, sorry! I'm sure the experts know this, but wanted to mention something that caught me by surprise. We were given an all day FP+ for any ride we wanted (Super great CM at the BWV helped us untangle a MDE problem and gave us this to make up for the time spent.)
Anyway, we were 5 minutes early for our TT FP+ and instead of registering the TT FP+ is redeemed our golden FP+. Just a FYI. If anyone else is in this situation, with the possible shorter times, just be aware.
Yes, if they let us choose the increments that work for our own families, that would be great! Personally, we don't have toddlers anymore, so we'd choose the half hour slots and be super happy with that! As it stands right now, we have SO much wait time between FP's that it gets frustrating.
No one knows what the app changes will entail but you should be able to choose Modify FPs and see what is available when you view time changes.I have already scheduled my FP (This past Mon night for 6/4-6/11) but on arrival day a 30 min window would help quite a bit. I'll have to look tomorrow night at midnight or Sun AM to see if there's any change in what's available.
I suppose it's mostly speculation, but I was able to schedule FP+ with half hour windows earlier today. And right now I can schedule a FP+ with a 45 minute window. So it was more that just seeing it briefly on a screen. But obviously none of us knows if it will stay that way.Is this actually happening, or is this just speculation based on someone seeing it briefly on a screen?
I think I'll wait to see if this is happening, and what the details are, before I think about it too much or offer an opinion on it.
Ok, so every so often I go into MDE to play around with FP+, just to see what's available. I went in today and checked for MK FP+ on April 24 (just a randomly chosen date) and was very surprised that both A&E and 7DMT were available for a party of 4. Then I looked at the return windows and noticed that they were in half hour increments. A&E was between 11:00 and 11:30pm and 7DMT was between 11:30pm and 12:00am. Is this normal? Something new? I've never seen a return window less than an hour long.
FP slots had been for a complete hour with the final slot of the night beginning one hour before park closing.
The 1/2 hour slots are new to MDE.
It's funny how it works differently in different situations. Sometimes we're waiting for what seems like an eternity for our next FP+ and other times we're lucky to make it even with the grace period!
I could see the half hour working out in MK where attractions are very close together and you're trying to knock them out back to back. But knowing how easy it is to run into unexpected delays, it would make me very nervous!
OP checked for April 24. I believe she is using the website. The app is still showing hour return windows. The shows are the only ones showing up short for me. I'm still getting hour increments when I check through May 28. What date are the changes being seen?
