Let me tell you how it would work in my house.

"All Star Sports is only $185 and we won't be in the room much, lets stay there"

2 days later

"It will only be another $20 to stay at Pop, we liked it on that 2 nite stay a couple years ago, lets just change to that"

3 days later

"We can move to a Mod for only an extra $90, I say that's a no brainer. I'll call today to change"

A week later

"We've never stayed at Riverside and we can go there for only 10 bucks more. Lets do it"

10 Days later

"Maybe we should check the rates at WL"

:rotfl::rotfl:
TOTALLY ME TOO!
(our flights for May went down $80. I was so excited and asked my husband to call and rebook to get the credit. His response? "NO." - What! - His logic "I am not getting an $80 credit for flights which will cause you to want to book another $5000 Disney Vacation in just a few months just so you can use the $80 airline credit." Not a bad point. :p)

Hi Nicki! :wave2:

I voted CBR -
Why? I have been reading your dining reports forever - and I know you and Todd are not HUGE lovers of the Values - (Yes they can be a ton of fun) - but for you guys I think spending a little extra for a Mod would be a wise investment. A little extra space a some amenities would increase the quality of a short stay. :)

Story in our house, too!!:rotfl2: this is how we went from All-Stars to Boardwalk for our May trip!

I would def. go through Orbitz for a room only ressie. Remember on the third page or so type in promo code SPRING20 in all caps up on the top of the page

We are going for a 2 night trip in May, not going to use the resort amenities (maybe the food court), just looking to sleep and shower, probably will not take an afternoon break

I have total sticker shock! When did these rooms become so high??

Which would you do and why?

If you are going to go park commando, go with the cheapest option. All of the Disney resorts provide clean, comfortable rooms, transportation, and EMH. Save the cash this time to enjoy more things at the parks.

What are your plans while there?
Stay at the resort a lot & enjoy it?
Park early in the morning & stay all day?

If you won't be in the room much, go with the cheapest room.

I checked Riverside -- the one time I stayed at POP, I had some of the worst nights sleep in my life (well, when I wasn't sick or sick with worry over something). Lot of noise from outside, and super thin walls with loud neighbors. We absolutely trudged through the parks during the day. For us, anyway, doing commando touring requires a good nights sleep. I know not everyone has that experience, but it was definitely ours, and enough to know it's not for us.

Though I would choose POFQ over Riverside. That way, if they're sharing buses, you are always the first pickup and dropoff. Less likelihood of boarding a bus with no seats. I always felt so bad for the people at the last bus stop at Riverside.

May 13-15 and it is the price for a 2 night stay

I just checked on Orbitz and I can get 2 nights much cheaper than with WDW. Art of Animation is just $105 a night!

Now I am totally confused! For me it is sticker shock because we used to pay $49 for a value and $79 for a mod

$79 for a mod? That must have been a long time ago. I haven't stayed in a mod for about 10 years and I thought $105 was good then.
