I finally recieved my Castaway Cay shore survival kit in the mail! The CD just makes my rainy days so much better.

I sailed in FEB and have been waiting and calling and waiting and calling
for my kit. "We can only give you your CC #"...."hum, when will I get my CD?" "We are behind in the mailings, we are not sure"....I have basically given UP!!!! I am SHOCKED if you JUST sailed in April you have yours....WHAT IS UP DCL?????

We sailed April 15, 2006. I have no idea how DCL mailings work. We did book another cruise while on board, but I don't think that would matter. At the top of this discussion board is a sticky for the survival kit. I hope it comes soon, because it does make your day brighter!

We got ours about a month after we cruised, but the disc came in two pieces. Called the Castaway Club number and they said they would send us another but that was three months ago, so I guess I'll have to call again.

I guess I could download it from the DIS, but it's not the same, if you know what I mean.

YUP ..we did too...re-booked for the 7 day EASTERN/MAGIC for Feb 2007....

still NO CD....you must def have the magical touch...I am going to call again.

I do recall another Thread exactly about this and EVERYONE's CD arrived in pieces....with MY luck....I will FINALLY get my CD and it will also be in pieces....

Let' s hope it doesn't come in pieces! The CD has tropical music on it along with sounds of waves and birds. OH so relaxing. The kit also had our castaway Cay member numbers. The funny thing is though the member cards only had my DS and I, I guess they didn't want my husband to have a card. I am going to call tomorrow to see if they will send a card out for him. He felt so left out. The kit also had another survey. How many surveys do I need to fill out for DCL? I think this one was #4 or 5.

Basically it is a thank you gift for sailing on Disney Cruise Line. Strangely enough it doesn't get sent to everyone and there is no rhyme or reason why some people get it and others don't. Calling DCL and asking for the CD is also fairly futile.

Another frustrating aspect is that the marketing people (3rd party non-DCL company) that packages this kit did not do a good job because many have been thrilled to find the Shoreside Survival Kit in their mail only to be disappointed moments later when they find inside a broken CD because it is not protected well.

Basically what it amounts to is a CD with music, computer desktop photos, and a screensaver.

After reading the threads for sometime now and all the frustration centered around the kit I decided that if I ever got one I would post the files to my website.

As luck would have it after our fourth cruise (last November) we were sent the SSK so you can now view, listen, and download the files.

Thanks Buddy Bear for posting your SSK! It is kinda of funny how some people get the kit and some people don't.
