Shopping: What are the Western Ports "known" for?

I remember when we cruised on our honeymoon(13 yrs ago) and did the western caribbean they mentioned at the shore talks what each island was "known" for shopping wise.

I'm thinking that Grand Cayman was lace and china.(Which I don't plan to buy) and Jamaica(Which DCL doesn't go to) was rum and I don't know about Cozumel.

Anyway, can anybody tell me the items or bargains each of the Western Ports (Cozumel, Key West, Grand Cayman) is know for? We're not big shoppers but I thought it might be wise to check out the known good quality items or bargain items.

Hi Sonya!

Key West is best known for all of its "KEY LIME" products including concentrated juices you can bring back. Another great favorite are the KINO's. These are leather sandals that last forever. Just beware, the store closes early, 4pm. We missed it when we were there and I am now really depressed.

Grand Cayman has a couple of good shops for Tanzanite, lace, and china. I don't care for GC so, I don't really shop there. I was told that they have good prices on all jewelry and electronics.

Cozumel.....any homemade crafts. They have wonderful blankets and all kinds of typical "island treasures".

You missed out one thing on Grand Cayman, rum cake, it's everywhere, even the tours stop at a rum cake 'factory'!

Shopping was ok there, GC is more about the tours, imho the Turtle Farm is cute and Stingray City are not to be missed

You have to be real careful in Cozumel. Stick only to the Disney approved shops, or use only cash, people on here have had their credit card numbers lifted by unapproved stores. Nevermind how incredibly pushy the stores are there.

In Cozumel they prefer cash and are known for their silver. Alcohol was pretty cheap, they also have alot of cigar shops.
