Shopping sent to your resort?

Has anyone ever done this?
There's a bed set I really want off the Target website, but it's only available to buy online and only available to ship to a US address!
I'm staying at CSR in August, would I be able to get it delivered there?
If so, how early could I send it there?

Yes you can get it sent there however the postal method will decide if it goes yo the business centre or the front desk. Anything sent the USPS will go to the front desk all couriers (fed ex, UPS etc) go to the business centre and you will be charged to receive your parcel.

I would only have something arrive a day or two before me having had something returned by a resort once.

i typically have about 10 to 15 packages sent to me at my disney resort.

Last august i had several that were sent almost 2 months before i arrived.

You have to include your arrival date in your address and then hopefully it won't be sent away.

all of my packages have reached me thus far.

I have my name and my arrival date in the address (that's what disney told me to do the first time i sent something. I called up the resort and asked them exactly what to write in the address so that it would reach me).

I've never bought anything from Target, but i'm sure that would be fine.
I've had deliveries (to Pop Century) from the following online websites:
Lands End (many many packages), Amazon (lots of packages), Teva footwear, Zappos footwear, Guitar Center, the Disney Store, Rentcell, The Waterproof Store, eBags, dBroth, Russell Athletic, Bare Necessities, Apple, Kohls, Nike, New Balance, Russo Music, Nordstrom, Rockport, and probably others i can't recall anymore

I didn't have a problem with any of the above.
On our last two trips i had about 15 packages delivered.
Last August, all but one were waiting for us when we arrived (it was quite comical when the CM brought this huge cart full of packages out to us when we checked in - the lands end packages in particular are very large - i buy all of DH's clothes from Lands End as they have a very nice Tall Men selection).

the one package that wasn't there on our arrival, i had purchased only a few days earlier. It arrived two days after we checked in.

It's a lot of fun getting all those packages!!!!

Yes, but, check with the company first, I asked Joanns, the craft store and they said no as it was unreliable, but, would not elaborate on that, but, I've had no problems otherwise. It's a bit of a habit to order stuff before I go now, but, only things I can't get in the UK. BTW JC Penney deliver to the UK now, which is handy.

Back in 2012 I shipped a small Amazon parcel to OKW and they phoned my room once it had arrived, which was super handy!

i never spoke with anyone at the shops i ordered from.

I purchased everything online and put my name and the resort address as the shipping address (as i said, i called pop century to make sure what the shipping address should be - the exact address)

If you stay at a convention resort (CSR, BC/YC, BWI, CR, GF), you will be charged a fee if your package is delivered UPS or FedEx. USPS is free. Delivery through any carrier to other resorts is free.

I have done this several times with no problems. I did order something once by USPS after I had arrived at the resort, and it took a long time to be delivered. USPS delivers all Disney mail to a central hub, which then sorts it and delivers it internally to each resort. This can take a couple of extra days, especially given that they do not sort or deliver on weekends.

I was advised at the BC not to have anything arrive more than a week before my arrival date. The resorts have limited storage space, and they will send you package back to the sender if they think it has been there too long. As a PP said, adding your arrival date in the address can help prevent this.

regarding storage space - if you're going to pop century, there is no problem. They have a massive storage area with tons and tons and tons and tons of space.
Their reason for the guest arrival date is so that they know who you are (as opposed to another guest with the same name).
On the phone they told me that the guest name and arrival date is so they know you're the joe smith arriving on april 2 and not the joe smith arriving on april 3rd. (they get thousands of guests after all - many with identical names).

by the way, regarding storage - pop century has so much storage that they will even let you store suitcases during your cruise.
We stored several suitcases there during our 7 night cruise on the allure of the seas. They were extremely nice about it. Really friendly guys working there and a very organised system of storage. Of course, we tipped, but even before they saw any money they were extremely friendly and helpful.

another reason to stay at Pop Century rather than one of the other resorts

as i said, last august i had 15 packages shipped to me at pop century, several that were sent more than a month before our arrival and one that was almost 2 months (7 weeks to be exact).

Good to know that i should stick with Pop Century.
It's not an issue when we go to both orlando and detroit, as i can have everything shipped to detroit.

But when we only go to orlando, i have to ship it to us there.
I even ship suitcases. In August i shipped 6 new duffels to us at Pop Century (and filled all of them for our flight back home )

i have no choice. I have to buy shoes for DH, DS and DD in the US and clothes for DH and DS in the US.
so that's a lot of packages and a whole lot of suitcases.
I had two duffels of just new shoes on my last trip.

Any packages shipped by UPS or FedEx to a convention resort (CSR, BC/YC, BWI, CR, GF) will go their business services division and be charged a fee. Packages shipped by USPS to any resort should be free. It pays to check with your shipper to find out if USPS is an option.
