Shoplifting! A vent & need advice.

I think that set of punishments is perfect. You want to get the point across that behavior like this isn't allowed, but yet have the punishment fit what he did.

If there are elderly people in your neighborhood (even if you don't personally know them) their sidewalks need to be shoveled, their cars cleaned off of snow, their trash hauled to the curb on icey nights.

Nursing/Personal Care homes love to have visitors. He can spend a few hours every Sat afternoon. Especially this time of year.

Community Service does not have to be an organized event, or a program.

I won't tell you what I stole, but at Hudsons (now Marshall Fields), they watch you on a camera in the fitting rooms while you are changing so that is how we got caught.

Was this years ago? That can't be legal in this day and age. I can see maybe having a camera aimed toward the entrance of the dressing room area to observe what you take in and what you take out. But there's no way that a legitimate store would watch or video people inside the dressing room.

When I was a kid, my friends and I would have sleepovers and tape record ourselves having farting and burping contests. Who would have ever thought we'd turn out to be such ladies?

Hudsons was a major department store, and like I said, it's now Marshall Fields (a huge department store). This was 13 years ago, however many stores use this practice. It's legal if it's females watching females and males watching males. They put a little sticker on the mirror that says something about this fitting room is being monitored by same sex employees or something to that affect.

I worked for a LP company, at target, wal-mart, ross, best buy, and everyday 2 or 3 teen got in trouble for Shoplifting. And I felt so bad for their parents, most of them cried and it was hard for us too.

I worked at the camera room and also undercover, shopping and walking around like any other customer.

That's the way this guy was -- just dressed like another customer. He told DS that he was listening to the football game on his walkman, but it got interrupted to have to take care of him, so he missed the score.

What is it with kids and shoplifting? Is it the thrill or something? I never did it, so I have no idea.
