I just got my Kate Spade shoes that will match the sash on my dress, and I love them... but I'm a little worried about the high heal. I hope I won't be toppling over down the aisle. Do any of you have high/thin heals that you're wearing with your dresses? If so, have you tried walking in your dress with them? How did they work out? Please tell me I won't fall on my face. Your advice would really be helpful. Thank you!

I ended up buying the shoes I had tried on with my dress.

They have about a 2.5 inch heel, maybe a little more.
I was really trying to make up for the height difference between my DH to be and myself.
I'm 5'4, he's 6'2 :goodvibes

I had no problems walking around in them, I actually found them pretty comfortable, and I ended up having them on for close to 3 hours in the bridal store while the flower girls tried on dresses, maid of honor ect.

Only minor mishap I nearly had was stepping backward off the platform in front of the mirror!

I'm not a heel/dress shoe person by any means, so I was really surprised I had no troubles, and no discomfort.

Thanks! My shoes are 3 and a half inches high. I'll have to practice walking around the house in them, and doing the house work. :rotfl:

I have really high shoes too and I'm not used to wearing them. I'll just practice a couple of weeks before the wedding and hope for the best ;)

sajetto - are yours platform flip flops or am i thinking of someone else?
i am only good for 2 to 2 1/2 inch heels, no higher!

Thats definitely me you're thinking of :teeth:

Actually, I've been on the hunt for different ones. I went to david's and tried on a few pairs of high heels, but haven't selected a pair yet. I'm waiting until my mom and sis give an opinion. The platforms just looked funny when I lifted up my dress

Well, I'm not to that point in buying things yet, but I am thinking - It'll be Florida. It'll be hot. Maybe I will wear some sparkly flip flops. No one will really see. My friend and I saw a pair at Wal-Mart and we joked about them. I don't want to wear stockings, my feet will swell in the heat, and I hate confining shoes in the heat! I wear a lot of sandals so I could look for sandals instead.

Flip flops all the way, it was a little bit of a distance to walk down the boardwalk to SBP.

My getting ready flip flops: (my mickey head toe ring was my "something blue")

I solved my high heel problem, and ordered myself some 2 and a half inch ones. :wizard: And get this... my fiance found them for me because I was so upset about not having the right shoe. Now I know... uh... I hope I won't fall on my face down the aisle. And I won't have to worry about walking around all wobbly. :teeth:

Awww that was so sweet of him!! What an amazing fiance!

I actually have Kate Spade shoes very similar to those and the heel makes walking quite difficult.. I wouldn't want to imagine attempting to walk on them for a decent period of time with the added weight of the dress and nerves!

I wanted to wear flip flops myself, but was worried about making their customary "FLOP" noise with each step down the aisle. I'm glad you and your fiance found a shoe that you'll be more comfortable walking in - no sense chancing a trip on your special day!

I was going to go for flip flops but in the end i went for a simple low heel shoe. My fiance is the same height as me so i didnt want to tower over him.

Mine are Angel and are in the Bliss collection. They are Soooo comfy as they are padded.

Im a comfort girl so i found a pair of Kurt Geiger ballerina silk slippers that tie up a round the legs. They re gorgeous, i think they ll look great in pics (thats if they get seen) plus i wanted something that i knew after a long day wouldn't leave my feet in pain from blisters etc. Found them in Selfridges in London & within 2 days of them being released they had apparently sold out nationwide so am glad i got me a pair :woohoo:

Our first dance is going to be a swing number so I'm actually wearing white canvas swing shoes (white canvas sneakers with a suede bottom for easy dancing) -- my dress comes right to the floor (not bustled) so the shoes aren't seen and I can wear my comfy insoles and be nice and comfy all day long -- our wedding is at 11am and the reception will end around 4:30-5pm.

I'm taller than D-Fi so heels weren't really an option and I'm already 5'10" so I hardly ever wear heels to begin with (unless I'm auditioning - I'm an actress).

My friend who wears heels all the time bought some new heels for her wedding and dind't walk around or try dancing in them before hand and she had some problems the day of her wedding so no matter what -- walk around your house (on carpeting if you want to keep them looking new) and try some dance moves to make sure you'll be okay. :-)

I wore slip in shoes, with a heel and open toe - I wanted to look fancy for the ceremony . then i changed into flip flops for the reception

;) I've got a pair of Vans I'm going to slip into under the table at the reception. They're really fun, red, pink, and have skulls on them! :rotfl: ;)

A girl that takes after my own heart :woohoo: . Id probably keep my converse on if it were up to me but i figured this is the one day i should really make an effort. still my ballerina slippers are dead comfy so fingers crossed my cons won't be needed. I don't Ever wear shoes as im a bit of a rock chick ie combats girl so heels & me don't mix!!! Love your idea though hun. My Df's gonna be wearing cons with his suit, its his way of making wearing a suit for the whole day a bit more comfortable plus love the look of men all suited finished off with a pair of cons
