After all the threads on here about one particular shoe brand - in this theme parks forum - I thought I'd ask my own questions about shoe selection for park touring.

Should I wear my tried but true New Balance running tennies for our June trip? They are so comfortable I forget I have them on. I sometimes wake up in the morning and realize I wore them to bed last night. Sometimes I still forget I have them on and take my shower in them! They are that comfy. Of course, DW doesn't appreciate when I forget to take them off when I sleep and start kicking all over the bed. She's just lucky I don't wear my oh-so-comfy "Cactus Coat" to bed as well.

So, I was wondering, should I forego this podiatric bliss I experience daily, or go with some other touring strategy with a different shoe?

Maybe I should go with my New Balance's with socks? Or should it be NB's without socks?

Should I wear Crocs without socks, or should I wear Crocs with socs?

Should I wear Bocs without socks, or should I wear Bocs with socs?

If I have to spar with someone, should I box with Crocs with socks, Bocs with socks, Crocs without socks, or Bocs without socks? What will my Gox wear?

Please vote above for your choice. I'm terribly :confused3, but thought the theme parks experts on here could give me a hand with my choice of footwear. ;)

In yellow socks
I box my Gox
I box in yellow
Gox box socks.
How I wish
I had some Crocs!

My apologies to Dr. Theodore Giesel...

C'mon over to Suess Landing (IOA). I'll be there in my crocs, with socks, eating lox on the docks.

You cannot go wrong with tennis shoes w/ socks...I chose the New Balance w/ socks. :)

Now I need to know WHAT ARE BOCS?? Cuz, I prefer New Balance with socks! (Actually, I LOVE MY KEENS :thumbsup2 )

Ahh, I will not box in Crocs, I will not fox in Bocs, I will not eat eat cream cheese and lox in Crocs or Bocs...I will not, can not box in Bocs. Socks in Crocs? Socks in Bocs? How about some Crocs in Bocs?? I will not :stir: in Crocs or Bocs... party: Now those guys....who knows!!??

Tevas! Notice my whole family is wearing Tevas in my sig picture.

But.......I have tried crocs & love 'em. I'm not sure whether I'd bring crocs or tevas on our next trip.

I've done the parks in New Balances, Sketchers and Addidas. I will say the NBs were great.. but my Addidas were the best (I don't know if all Addidas are the same, but I have Superstars).

go barefoot!

Or get those stupid adhesive sandal thingies they used to sell at fairs.

I voted for Bocs. They make them in antibacterial now!

They have that "stay soft" hypo-allergenic feel as well, not to mention they are made from 100% post-recycled content.

Don't know what Bocs are.....

Crocs gave my girls (both of them) horrible open blisters last August in the same places on their feet. I know this is an oddity, but it was nasty, so I can't vote Crocs.

I don't like gym shoes in the summer - especially in rainy, humid FL in summer. I do love NB and have several pairs, but not in the rain..... Or on a train......

I vote for Keens. Once you try them, that's it - you will never go back. They are the most awesome, comfy shoe. I always wear my Newport H2Os to WDW. My whole family owns them and can wear them to WDW straight from the box, no blisters or sore feet ever.

Good luck!

What more can you ask for in a shoe? Unbeatable comfort AND good for the environment!

They come in way more styles then Crocs, too.

I say wear extremely-well-broken-in sneakers with Coolmax socks; use bodyglide; and have moleskin at the ready.

I got a terrible blister on the bottom of my little toe last October, wearing what I thought were well-broken-in sneakers. Well, that tiny blister bothered me so much I was amazed! Finally had to switch to my Nike neoprene flip-flops for the rest of the trip.

So my advice is: take your oldest, crummiest pair of sneakers (I wish I had had mine as a back-up!)

I would say to wear shoes with a cushioned sole and socks. You will easily walk more than 20 miles in a 4-5 day span...if you keep my family's pace...so flat shoes are deadly. One trip I made the huge mistake of wearing tennis shoes and after two days, I could barely move. I bought a pair of running sneakers before our last trip, and they were great. They were comfortable, light and my feet didn't ache once.
