We are having our anniversary dinner at Tony's Town Square, I am sure much to the dismay of many of you here. :lmao:

Anyone shocked? Tell me about your worst experience there!

We have been there 3 or 4 times in the last few years and will be back in March. Never had bad food or bad service. I hope you guys have a great meal and Happy Anniversary!

Not shocked, sorry. Not even a bit surprised. If you're referencing some of the less than stellar dining reviews that Tony's has gotten...... I think most people realize that these reviews are opinion only and are valid only for the person who wrote the review. One person dislikes a meal. The next loves it. The person in between who thought it was just OK is the least likely to write a review at all. Most people will take any review with a really big grain of salt (or salt substitute). Hope you have a lovely dinner.

We ate there last trip, and had a wonderful experience. I think Tony's is one of the most disliked places on property (next to the commissary and backlot express of course) We love it so much that people find it shocking around here :lmao:

I just like to hear other people's experiences.

We've only eaten there once. Had to wait a very long time for ADR (no big deal). We had an older waitress who was slow, inattentive and just down right rude. Food was good though. I had low expectations to begin with so I wasn't overly upset.

I hope you have a better time and a Wonderful anniversary meal!!!

Dinner is horrible at Tony's - would never go back. IMHO, some places to dine at Disney are not worth going to even if the meal was free.

But see right there is a prime example of personal opinion. You come from Northern NJ where there are awesome Italian restaurants on every corner. Tony's probably just can't compare. It's all relative. I'm a Jersey girl and trying Tony's for the first time next week. My Ohio bred DD9 will probably think the pasta is :thumbsup2 We'll see, lol. :)

I do not all the overly critical comments about disney restaurants we have had wonderful meals at most especially if you know what to expect. Tonys was a small dissapointment because of the kids meal. My daughter ordered pizza with salad. The salad had shredded lettuce which wfas hard for her to eat and she loves salad and her pizza was tiny. It was smaller then a kids cd pizza. My flatbtead was just okay but the highlight was pistacio ferment brulee. We wanted to try it but we will not be back to many great restaurant.ys in Disney.

Tony's is my only must-go. Mostly because Lady and the Tramp is my favorite Disney movie and it's basically the only place to experience that movie at WDW.
Spaghetti is my favorite food, good or bad so I love it.

My bad experience was on my honeymoon though. I had been looking forward to that ONE meal for months and after we took our orders I had to use the restroom. Well, the restroom for Tony's has like, 3 stalls and 2 were out of order. I waited about 20 minutes to use the restroom (plus, women take FOREVER to use the restroom, I don't get it!). By the time I got back to the table my DH was done with his meal, I missed the waitress bringing out our special card and dessert, and my food was cold :(

But I'll be going back next trip :)

We had an anniversary dinner at Tony's, and it was the worst experience I've ever had at a WDW restaurant. We will never go back.

We showed up early for our ADR and checked in. We waited over an hour from our ADR time to be called. (So, it was more like an hour and a half.) After checking with the podium several times, we were finally told by one CM that we must have left the area because they had already called our name. After explaining that we were seated right next to the podium the entire time, she rolled her eyes at us and said she would "see what she could do to work us in."

After we were finally seated, we saw our server twice: once at the beginning to take our entire order (pushed us into giving our drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert order at the beginning of the meal because he was "busy") and again at the end to deliver our check. We had to ask other servers for bread and refills, and our food was cold and disgusting like it had been sitting around forever. The pasta was so hard you could break it. Had our server checked on us during our meal, we could have told him about it.

So, that put a really bad taste in our mouths (literally and figuratively) for Tony's, and it was by far the worst meal we've ever had on WDW property. Like I said before, we will never go back. There are too many other great restaurants on property for us to have to go back to Tony's.

I recently had an anniversary dinner at Tony's. I was a little disappointed by the service...our waiter was not attentive and acted like he would rather be anywhere else in the world. I was also a little displeased by the lack of Lady and the Tramp theming. To each his own, though!

We set up an ADR and also added our anniversary celebration to the reservation. We didn't get anything special here like we did at other restaurants. I thought the chocolate stamp of Lady and Tramp on our dessert plates was our special thing because we were celebrating...but then I noticed everyone around us had it too!

I do love the location of Tony's, though. We sat outside during MVMCP and we could see the snow on Main Street. It was very nice.:)

Have a lovely trip and happy anniversary!!

I spend more time in line for the bathroom at Disney than I have have for a ride :rotfl:

We are going in with low expectations.... sorta

We went there one time. It was ok, nothing memorable to make me want to go back.
I wish you a great trip!

You're certainly entitled to go to Tony's and form your own opinion. It would be sad if you did it on your anniversary and had a bad experience. There's a reason that Tony's gets as many negative reviews as you've seen on the boards. You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

To be honest, I'm REALLY not a picky eater. And while I can tell the difference between good food and bad food, when it comes to Italian I don't really mind. I love crappy Italian food as well as good. So I love it so much because of the Lady and the Tramp thing and the location (I don't like any other MK restaurants).
We went to the Italy restaurant in Epcot (not Via Napoli, the other one, Tutto something or other) and I thought the spaghetti was WAY to salty. I actually liked the Tony's Spaghetti better.

The only thing for me would be to go over lunch instead of dinner since our lunches have always been pleasant and not packed whereas the dinners have been so busy that the service was lacking and we had long waits.

Also, use the bathroom before eating! haha

How about getting to the middle of your bowl of pasta and finding a hair in it? To make it worse all I was offered was a replacement meal. And that came with 2 of my 3 children done eating and getting antsy. No way I was going to sit there waiting for another meal to be prepared. So what did I get? The bill.

I hate to be cruel, but if our waiter had any less personality they could have watered him.

It is only 1 of 2 places at the World that I can say I wouldn't return to if the food was free.

I am sure that has something to do with it. :)

That is what makes Disney dining great - everyone has their favorites or places that they can't stand.

I've been for both lunch and dinner x2. 1st dinner was the day after our disney wedding, it was pretty good! I had good service, good good and it was a quiet relaxing meal right after such a hectic few days.

For dinner #2 it was my husband, daughter, daughter's friend and myself. It was a MISERABLE time. The friend was an italian teenager from jersey (transplanted to Tennessee) and made the mean miserable because she felt it was appropriate to correct everyone on what we were ordering (because we didn't pronounce things the way she felt that they should be.. who knew that we were supposed to put a hard g sound in ricotta cheese??). She then felt that at her 15 year old wisdom was enough to tell the wait staff just how the food had been prepared wrong.. lord, I can't tell you how the food was, all I can tell you was that it was a horrible time.

Lunch was just my husband and myself. We were an early seating and had a wonderful waitress, fabulous food and a good relaxing meal.

So.. I think it is what you make of it.. the food is good, the service is good, but don't take an snarky 15 year old italian LOL
