Shocking and tasteless "joke" e-mail received

A friend of mine, whom I respect and is a responsible grown adult with a family, just sent me an e-mail. It contains a joke/prank that I can't even describe in it's awfulness. I imagine that if somebody even DID this, they would be put in prison for a LONG LONG time. Thoughts? Here it is (WARNING!!!!!...the "joke" is about terrorism. If you are, like me, offended by anyone making light of things like 9/11 or other acts of terrorism, you may do well to skip reading this):

If you are sitting next to someone or irritates you on a plane or train.

1. Quietly and calmly open up your laptop case.
2. Remove your laptop.
3. Boot it.
4. Make sure the guy who won't leave you alone can see the screen.
5. Open your email client to this message.
6. Close your eyes and tilt your head up to the sky.
7. Then hit this link:

It took me a moment to realize what I was looking at and what the "joke" was...then I was all "Oh Helllllllllllll to the no-you-didn't!"

BTW, luckily she didn't make the thing up, she just forwarded it to me. i'd love to get my hands around the neck of the moron who did though!

See, that's me too. I thought it was funny, sitting here at my desk, but on a plane? Hell no, I'd have been slitting the guy's throat with the razor-like edge of my sharpened, expired Disney Resort room key.

I guess being up most of the night sick and with sick kids is making me cranky but I don't see the humor. It's either a stereotyped countdown clock *which isn't funny* or it counts down from 10 to 0 and *what's funny about watching it countdown*? What am I missing? Probably a lot today. Carry on.

I agree that I would NEVER want to see that screen while sitting on a plane. I did however just email it to my husband.
