I don't find it offensive or shocking. Did I laugh? No. But I rarely laugh at email forwards anyway.

I don't think the sender of this joke is actually proposing that people do this on planes. You're just supposed to think the idea of doing it is funny, I guess.

A friend of mine, whom I respect and is a responsible grown adult with a family, just sent me an e-mail. It contains a joke/prank that I can't even describe in it's awfulness. I imagine that if somebody even DID this, they would be put in prison for a LONG LONG time. Thoughts? Here it is:

If you are sitting next to someone or irritates you on a plane or train.

1. Quietly and calmly open up your laptop case.
2. Remove your laptop.
3. Boot it.
4. Make sure the guy who won't leave you alone can see the screen.
5. Open your email client to this message.
6. Close your eyes and tilt your head up to the sky.

I don't get this either. I just don't think the joke is funny. However, if something upset me, I don't think I'd be passing it along to thousands of others.

I got that one too. It makes me sick that someone thinks that's funny. I would hope if some idiot acts on the suggestion, they get arrested immediately upon landing - it's just a big slap in the face to everyone who lost someone that awful day.

And I was ticked off at the friend who forwarded that junk to me. She should know better.
